Building a Thriving Web3 Gaming Ecosystem with InfiniGods.jpg

In the fast-paced world of blockchain gaming, innovation is key to standing out from the crowd. Damon Gura, the CEO and co-founder of InfiniGods, understands this better than most. With a vision that extends beyond single games, InfiniGods is focused on creating a thriving cross-gaming IP ecosystem that caters to a wide range of player preferences. In this exclusive interview, Damon shares his insights into the web3 gaming industry, the importance of diversity in game genres, and the exciting future of InfiniGods.

Expanding the Horizon: From Merge to Destiny

InfiniGods has already made its mark in the blockchain gaming world with its first playable products: Infini Merge and Immortal Siege. Infini Merge, a casual puzzle-based game with web3 features, and Immortal Siege, a real-time strategy game with card-based mechanics, both offer unique experiences for players. However, Damon Gura and his team are not stopping there. They have a new mobile title on the horizon, set to launch in September, called "King of Destiny." This mobile-first game will be available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, opening up new avenues for player engagement.

We're a blockchain gaming studio, spread across the globe, focused on creating cross-gaming IP. We have two playable products in the market today. One is Infini Merge, a casual puzzle-based game that offers rewards and incorporates web3 features. We also have collections, including the Elder God collection and game passes that unlock tournaments within our ecosystem. Our other game, formerly known as Infini Towers but now called Immortal Siege, is a real-time strategy game with card-based mechanics. And we have a new mobile title coming up in September called King of Destiny.

A Game for Every Player: The Importance of Genre Diversity

One of the standout features of InfiniGods' approach is its commitment to offering a variety of game genres within its ecosystem. Damon believes that diversity in game genres is essential because players have different preferences. Some prefer strategy games, others enjoy casual puzzles, and some are drawn to player-versus-player experiences. InfiniGods aims to cater to all these preferences, ensuring that there's something for everyone within their ecosystem.

I believe that an ecosystem is stronger than any single game. It allows us to make the entire consumer experience more interesting. I've been in the gaming industry professionally since 1997, and I've seen that players have different preferences. Some prefer strategy games, some enjoy casual puzzles, and others like player-versus-player experiences. Why not provide them with a range of offerings that cater to their various playstyles and preferences?

Interoperability: The Heart of InfiniGods' Ecosystem

One of the most intriguing aspects of InfiniGods' ecosystem is the interoperability of assets across all their games. Damon emphasizes the importance of interoperability, where assets can be seamlessly used in different games. For example, their Elder God collection can be utilized in Infini Merge, Immortal Siege, and the upcoming King of Destiny, each offering unique powers in these games. This interoperability not only enhances gameplay but also creates a cross-gaming economic ecosystem, allowing players to use items from one product in another.

Our philosophy revolves around interoperability at its core. Our assets work across all games and will continue to do so. For example, our core Gen 0 collection, known as Elder Gods, can be used in Infini Merge, Immortal Siege, and the upcoming King of Destiny. These Elder Gods provide different powers in each game. In Infini Merge, they offer power-ups that affect gameplay, while in Immortal Siege, they can be summoned onto the battlefield to engage enemy forces. In King of Destiny, they boost tournament performance and enable the activation of tournament powers.

Player-Owned Economy: Breaking New Ground

InfiniGods is breaking new ground with its player-owned economy, where in-game assets are not just controlled by the developers but are also owned by the players themselves. Damon explains that players can trade items like power-ups, known as followers, to other players. This creates an engaging and dynamic ecosystem where players can actively participate in the economy. Additionally, these player-owned assets can be used strategically in various games within the ecosystem, offering exciting possibilities for gameplay and economic interactions.

When you're in our game, we have our economic side of the game where you earn power-ups, we'll call them mini power-ups. They're actually called followers, as an example in our merge game. When you get enough of these, call it mini power-ups, many power-ups, which you earn through gameplay, you can bundle those power-ups into an NFT, or technically an ERC-1155, and then trade it to other players.

Low-Skill PvP: Making PvP Accessible

PvP gameplay can often be intimidating for players, especially if it has a high skill ceiling. Damon acknowledges this and highlights the importance of making PvP accessible. In the upcoming King of Destiny, InfiniGods is focusing on low-skill PvP, which allows a broader range of players to enjoy competitive battles without the need for extensive skill or experience. This approach aims to create a more inclusive gaming experience, attracting both casual and traditional gamers to the web3 ecosystem.

We're going after something more open and lower skill to be more inclusive, which we think ultimately will give us access to a very broad audience, and be able to onboard millions and millions of customers. We need to have those abstraction layers so that people don't really understand or know that there's blockchain technology behind all this, but we're able to get the benefits that that technology enables, like market openness, marketplaces, digital asset ownership, stuff like this.

Transparency and Community Engagement

InfiniGods places a strong emphasis on community engagement and transparency. From the beginning, they opened up their Discord channels to players, allowing them to share feedback, ideas, and suggestions. Damon describes the thrill of implementing player feedback in real-time, resulting in a more enjoyable and player-driven gaming experience. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and involvement within the community, making players feel like active contributors to the game's development.

For us to not only take that feedback but also execute on the feedback in short order because we were doing more or less weekly releases at that point, you know, and then seeing the elation from the community: "Wow, I just mentioned this a week ago, and it's already in the game." I feel like that is the right way to go - it takes some discipline on execution and prioritization, which is always a challenge building stuff - but worth it.

Their open approach also extends to the integration of web3 elements, ensuring that players can easily understand and utilize blockchain technology without feeling overwhelmed.

Additionally, we're working on implementing web3 elements seamlessly within King of Destiny, which will be an exciting development for our community. We want to make these web3 elements easy to use and understand for players, and we have some innovative solutions in the works. Overall, our goal is to keep growing our community and providing exciting experiences for our players.

The Future of InfiniGods

Looking ahead, InfiniGods has a bright future. With the upcoming launch of King of Destiny and their commitment to accessibility, player engagement, and interoperability, they are poised to make a significant impact in the web3 gaming space. Damon's passion for creating an inclusive and player-centric ecosystem is evident, and InfiniGods' journey is one that players and blockchain gaming enthusiasts should keep a close eye on.

As Damon Gura and the InfiniGods team continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in web3 gaming, they invite players and enthusiasts to join them on this incredible journey. By fostering a sense of community, transparency, and accessibility, InfiniGods aims to redefine the gaming experience and shape the future of blockchain gaming.
