Faraway, a U.S.-based game development company, has announced the creation of Fchain, a gaming-focused Layer 1 (L1) blockchain built on the Avalanche network. The new blockchain will be launched and managed by the legally independent F Foundation. Fchain is designed to support the development of games with open and interoperable economies, with an initial focus on integrating Faraway’s own gaming portfolio.

Fchain utilizes Avalanche's latest technology update, Avalanche9000, which offers several improvements aimed at enhancing blockchain functionality for game developers. One of the key features introduced is ACP77, which allows developers to create custom L1 networks.
This feature provides developers with the ability to establish their own validation networks, which do not need to validate the core Avalanche X, P, and C-Chains. By deploying games on Fchain, developers can benefit from the flexibility and scalability offered by this advanced infrastructure.
Avalanche’s Retro9000 Program
The launch of Fchain will initially feature Faraway’s existing and upcoming game titles, including Shatterline, Villains, Rebel Skies, Serum City, and the Solana-based Mini Royale Nations. Additionally, the blockchain will support intellectual properties acquired from Yuga Labs, such as HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara.
Faraway’s creator platform and marketplace, as demonstrated in Dookey Dash: Unclogged, will also transition to being powered by Fchain, enabling a unified ecosystem for content creation and in-game transactions.
The platform aims to foster open-game economies where in-game assets and currencies are interoperable across different games. This approach seeks to offer developers and players alike more freedom and flexibility, setting Fchain apart from traditional game ecosystems where assets are often locked to a specific title.
FChain Faraway's New Avalanche-Based Gaming Blockchain
The F Foundation emphasizes that Fchain will be validated by a decentralized network, ensuring that the blockchain is fully community-operated. This decentralized approach is aligned with Faraway's vision of creating a player-driven ecosystem that grants the community a significant role in governance and decision-making. By implementing a decentralized network, Fchain aims to offer robust security and transparency while avoiding centralized control.
Fchain joins a growing list of gaming projects built on Avalanche’s L1 infrastructure, which already includes notable titles such as DeFi Kingdoms, MapleStory Universe, Shrapnel, and Off The Grid with its Gunz blockchain. The addition of Fchain is expected to further solidify Avalanche's position as a leading blockchain network for gaming, particularly given the increasing demand for decentralized and player-owned economies.
In anticipation of the 2025 launch, Faraway has introduced a points-based social farming campaign to build awareness and engage the gaming community. This initiative allows participants to earn points through various activities, which can potentially be redeemed for rewards upon the launch of Fchain.
FChain Powered by F Foundation
Faraway's introduction of Fchain marks a significant step towards a decentralized, player-driven gaming ecosystem. By leveraging Avalanche's cutting-edge technology and emphasizing community involvement, Fchain aims to create a new paradigm for game development and player interaction. With a strong portfolio of games and an open approach to asset interoperability, Fchain could play a key role in shaping the future of blockchain-based gaming.
