In a noteworthy development for the gaming industry, GamePhilos, a recently established web3 gaming studio, has successfully raised $8 million in a Seed Round to fuel the development of its ambitious free-to-play dinosaur-themed game, called Age of Dino. The project boasts support from a team of industry veterans, many of whom have previously worked with renowned companies such as NetEase, FunPlus, Zynga, and ByteDance.

Leading the investment round are prominent backers, including Xterio, Animoca Ventures, SevenX Ventures, and Chain Hill Capital. Notably, Xterio's platform plays a pivotal role in strengthening GamePhilos' dinosaur adventure by providing both the Software Development Kit (SDK) and essential technical support.

Age of Dino's development is truly a collaborative effort. Leveraging FunPlus' renowned strategy game engine as its foundation, the game benefits from the artistic expertise of Imagendary Studios, despite its modest team size. To enhance the gaming experience, Age of Dino boasts an original symphonic soundtrack.

Age of Dino is currently in active development for both mobile and PC platforms. What sets it apart is its seamless integration of web3 technology, featuring a unique in-game economy and NFT ownership for players. The gameplay promises real-time battles between rival dinosaur factions, in-game trading opportunities, and the chance to build alliances.

As well as more recently, Mythical Games who raised $37 million as the initial part of its Series C extension round for its two web3 games: NFL Rivals and Blankos Block Party. Lastly, of note is Proof of Play, a pioneering web3 gaming enterprise, also just revealed that it has amassed $33 million in seed funding. This infusion of capital is geared towards accelerating the development of its exclusive, blockchain-based pirate role-playing game, Pirate Nation.
