South Korean gaming giant Wemade's web3 game, Night Crows, launched worldwide last week following its initial success in South Korea. The web3 fantasy game, co-developed with South Korean studio Madngine using Unreal Engine 5, has garnered attention for its innovative multi-chain technology.

After its initial debut in South Korea, Night Crows swiftly ascended the charts on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, accumulating over $151 million in in-app purchase (IAP) sales within just seven months. 

Most recent data shows the game has already achieved cumulative sales of $10 million only three days after the global launch on March 12th. The game is being praised for its novel integration of blockchain technology, including advanced multi-tokenomics, character NFTs, and the decentralized omnichain messaging protocol Unagi(x).

In pursuit of this vision, the Night Crows team acknowledges that merely integrating blockchain, adopting a single minable tokenomics structure, or interfering with either the game or blockchain economy could impede the long-term growth of the game economy. Hence, Night Crows has devised a solution that enables the creation of blockchain assets based on the value users contribute to the in-game economy.

This blockchain economy, rooted in user-generated value within the in-game sphere, has been meticulously crafted to complement and augment the relationship between the two economic realms. Therefore ensuring that the blockchain economy does not undermine the integrity of the Night Crows in-game economy.

This has evolved into two pioneering projects: MUTE, which embodies the Play and Earn (P&E) tokenomics, and CANE, which embodies the Play and Own (P&O) NFT economy.

(A) MUTE

The Multi-Utility Token Economy

Night Crows’ high level of refinement, and diverse, and sustainable in-game economy has revealed the potential of progressing beyond the single utility token model pursued by many P&E games.

As a result, Night Crows will implement a multi-utility token economy, where numerous in-game items, including the most important in-game resource “DIA(Diamond)”, are tokenized.

There will be 7 mintable tokens available in Night Crows Global upon launch.

These tokens have no initial supply as they are based on value addition created by users and will only be minted in alignment to the game’s performance. However, a predetermined number of $Crow will have an initial supply to be used toward initial liquidity in trade mediums within the GameFi of WEMIX Play.

(1) $Crow: As the foundational token of Night Crows, $Crow will be supported by the GameFi of WEMIX PLAY. $Crow can only be minted through DIA(Diamond) acquired by users through value addition via the in-game exchange and request completion.

Note: Other tokens in Night Crows can be traded on the Crow Market of the PNIX Dex with $Crow as the base token. Featuring its own PSM(Peg Stability Module), $Crow will temporarily halt minting until its price stabilizes within a reasonable range compared with the in-game DIA(Diamond) value. $Crow can also be burned to exchange for in-game DIA(Diamond).

(2) $Morion: Minted using Morion as the sole material, this token as well as the tokens listed below can be exchanged for their respective in-game materials.

(3) $Gear: Minted using Precision Flight Component as material.

(4) $Promote: Minted using Advanced Promotion Insignia as material.

(5) $Tear: Minted using Frozen Tear as material.

(6) $Feather: Minted using Celestial Piece as material.

(7) $Papyrus: Minted using Papyrus as material.

Note: Additional tokens may be introduced in the future as the in-game economy expands and therefore requires further development of the blockchain economy. Conversely, existing tokens that do not contribute utility within the overall economy may cease minting. In such a case, the token can still be burned to be exchanged for in-game materials.

(B) CANE

The Character Abstracted NFT Economy

The Characters in Night Crows encompass valuable assets including equipment and skills but also represent the time, effort, and investment put into its development. Night Crows will support NFT minting of characters as an acknowledgement of user ownership of characters within the boundary of the game’s rules.

Leveraging the technology of Character Abstraction, which compresses vast character information into comprehensible attributes, Character NFTs in Night Crows form a dual pillar alongside tokenomics in the blockchain economy.

Character NFT minted through user value addition, Base NFT designed to replenish the population of servers that have new character creation restrictions in place, and the world’s first NFT Swap utilizing item NFTs will be unveiled through Night Crows Global. Founded upon the intrinsic value of characters through such NFTs in Night Crows will mark a new milestone for other web3 games in the future.

This NFT economy will be further developed and enhanced by adopting the official WEMIX NFT platform NILE’s Marketplace on WEMIX Play. WEMIX Play Omni-Chain Service

WEMIX Play stands as one of the world’s premier blockchain game platforms and is among the largest blockchain ecosystems globally. In line with the Omni-Chain Networking strategy of WEMIX3.0 and WEMIX Play, Night Crows Global will be connected to the blockchains associated with WEMIX3.0, enabling users and communities from various blockchain networks to access Night Crows without the need to segregate servers, facilitating the Omni-Chain service.
