In a significant development within the web3 gaming sphere, Elixir Games, a notable PC games distribution platform, has acquired LitLab Games, the developers behind the multiplayer autobattler, CyberTitans. This strategic acquisition solidifies Elixir's influence in the PC gaming distribution landscape. CyberTitans is LitLab Games' flagship title, which enjoyed considerable attention from web3 gamers throughout 2023, and has emerged as the most-played game on Elixir Launcher. Now part of Elixir's diverse portfolio, alongside other titles like the casual mobile battler Tinies and the ninja-themed battle royale No Way Back, CyberTitans becomes the third major title under Elixir's umbrella.
Established in 2018, Elixir Games was founded by Carlos Roldan and has consistently been at the forefront of blockchain-related game distribution. The Elixir Games Launcher hosts nearly 120 partnered PC games, showcasing its commitment to providing a comprehensive and functional distribution platform. Carlos expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are excited to welcome CyberTitans to the Elixir Games family. This acquisition underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences and our forward-thinking approach to the future of web3 gaming."Â
LitLab Games' CEO, Danyil Shatko, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the strategic nature of the acquisition in positioning both companies as contributors to innovation within the web3 gaming industry. "The strategic acquisition of LitLab Games marks a pivotal moment as we set the stage for innovation and excellence in the dynamic landscape of gaming," Shatko added.
This move aligns with Elixir Games' aspirations to establish itself among the leading PC game distribution platforms, putting it in competition with industry giants such as Ultra, Epic Games, and Steam. Backed by Square Enix, Elixir Games gained attention in September with exclusive deals, featuring titles like World Eternal Online from US studio Core Loop, a blockchain game poised to enhance the platform's gaming offerings. Elixir Games has also secured exclusive rights to Elemental Raiders, a turn-based hero battler backed by Supercell.Â
The other titles coming exclusively to the Elixir Games Launcher are:
This diverse portfolio spans the Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Binance, Ethereum, and Sui blockchains, reflecting Elixir Games' commitment to embracing blockchain technologies in the gaming industry. Notably, the exclusivity agreements bypass traditional game launchers, excluding Steam and Apple's App Store, signaling a shift towards decentralized and web3-friendly platforms. As Elixir Games continues to advance blockchain-related game distribution, the unveiling of these exclusive titles marks a significant moment in the convergence of technology and gaming. Players can anticipate a new era of gaming experiences on the Elixir Games Launcher, where innovation meets accessibility.
