Sparkball Launch

Overview

Ever dreamt of what would be the result of two games from wildly different genres got mashed up together? The team over at Sparkadia managed to take what makes sports and MOBA games popular and brought the best of both worlds together in Sparkball, formerly Edenbrawl.

The game takes the traditional sports elements of two goals and players needing to score points within that area to win the game and League of Legends for example where each character possesses different abilities, can buy items, and has an ultimate skill that can alter the pace of the game. All of these elements make Sparkball an incredibly fast paced game that needs tons of team coordination to overtake your opponents.

In the thrilling game of Sparkball, two teams of four players each square off with the primary aim of taking down the rival team's goalie and scoring against their goal. The team that scores the final goal in each round wins, and matches are played in a best of three format. As the game progresses, players can accumulate extra power for their characters through gold, which they can earn by defeating their opponents in combat, strategically using the ball to disable towers, and successfully completing various small objectives scattered across the map. A successful Sparkball team requires a blend of teamwork, strategic coordination, and a balance between combat and proper ball play to triumph over their adversaries.

Heroes

Eight unique heroes are available to play in the "Ascension Weekend" event of Sparkball, including crowd-pleasers like the obsessively neat 'Jan Itor' who can reel in enemies using his toilet plunger, and the space-faring chef 'Kana' infamous for ruthlessly mowing down opponents with her food truck. Even though Sparkball doesn't mandate specific roles or positions, each hero has distinctive abilities and attributes that influence the course of the match in unique ways, making a well-balanced team composition crucial to victory.

But Opti’s ambitions extend beyond Sparkball alone. They are actively working on expanding their multimedia IP, 'Sparkadia', the fantastical universe in which Sparkball is set. Sparkadia transports players into a hopeful, utopian realm filled with warmth and populated by the most eccentric characters. One such character is its official diplomat, Max, a chatty Golden Retriever, who not only serves as our guide but is also on a quest to find his missing tennis ball.

Founded by a unique blend of experienced indie founders and an elite group of Riot/Blizzard veterans, Opti Games blends passionate indie magic with AAA-level quality and scale (aka Triple-I). Token Utility

Sparkball round terms are exclusively available to NFT holders in our Discord, as per the project's request.

Identity and Ownership

Assets, including those for 'Official Sparkball', can be purchased via the in-game store or a Web3 store using crypto. Additionally, assets such as skins and in-game achievements purchased or unlocked via Web2 can be minted as SBTs. This makes the user's wallet their primary ‘Sparkball Identity’, allowing them to fully own their assets.

UGC/Custom Maps

Similar to UEFN/Warcraft 3, they are developing mod tools that enabling players to create custom maps and modes. Sparkball’s core combat loop works in various modes, including an internally developed Vampire Survivors mode.

These custom modes (‘Custom Sparkball’) are Web3 enabled, allowing creators to integrate their own NFTs, implement mini-economies (like Roblox), and more. Examples include endless wave maps that gamble tokens the further players progress, DAOs gating maps with NFT ownership, or creators making custom NFT cosmetics inside their maps.

Any SBTs owned by players from the ‘Identity and Ownership’ integration can also be used in these custom maps/modes. Similar to Fortnite, creators will earn a share of $SPARK tokens per month based on the popularity of their creations.

Fantasy Sports/Betting

Players can play Sparkball in Web2 and coach Sparkball in Web3. They can join sponsored leagues or create their own, drafting a team of Sparkball heroes and earning points based on team performance (similar to Fantasy Football). All matches are AI vs. AI and can be run asynchronously.

$SPARK tokens are used to enter paid leagues with token prizes or can be used to bet on fantasy matches. The more knowledge players have of matchups and meta in Sparkball, the more successful they’ll be in Fantasy.

In the long term, there are plans to integrate seasonal progression (similar to Franchise Mode), where players can sink tokens to improve their fantasy squad, creating the ultimate whale battles of team owners.

Tailgating

Given Sparkadia is an ecosystem of IP and games, they will create a social hub (similar to Ogrimmar from WoW) where players can showcase both their Web2 and Web3 achievements in Sparkball/Sparkadia.

The Tailgating hub will feature fun social activities like Spark Pong, platforming, and dodgeball, giving players a chance to practice their skills or relax between matches, while also building further IP attachment to their world.

Tailgating will host the majority of initial NFT integrations, allowing players to have their own Sparkball avatars and trophies based on their accomplishments and wallets. Additionally, token sinks will be introduced for players who want to own (metaphorically and literally) a piece of Sparkadia.
