Opti Games has launched the Preseason phase for Sparkball, a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) and sports hybrid game. This early-access stage gives players a head start in collecting Friendship points and earning potential rewards before the official launch of Season Zero. The Preseason is designed to introduce the community to the game’s mechanics, encourage early engagement, and build momentum leading into the full release later in the year.
Sparkball Preseason Offers Big Rewards
Sparkball is a team-based online game that combines the structure of a MOBA with elements of a sports competition. In 4v4 matches, players control heroes with distinct abilities, working together to score goals and prevent the opposing team from doing the same. The gameplay encourages strategic coordination, character-based tactics, and fast-paced decision-making.
The experience blends familiar features from competitive MOBAs with the mechanics of sports-themed gameplay. The game is expected to officially launch in the fourth quarter of 2025 as a Windows PC exclusive on Steam. Players interested in trying Sparkball before its full release can access it during Steam Next Fest, where it will be available as a free-to-play title for a limited time. Wishlisting the game on Steam is recommended for notifications about future updates and access opportunities.
According to Sparkball’s Steam platform listing, the minimum system requirements include Windows 10 as the operating system, an Intel i5 processor with a speed of 1.8 GHz or higher, and 8 GB of RAM. The game requires a GeForce GTX 980 Ti or a more powerful graphics card and 6 GB of available storage space. DirectX Version 11 is also necessary for compatibility.
Sparkball Preseason began on May 22 and is now open to all players interested in getting involved with the game ahead of Season Zero. Participants can earn Friendship points through a variety of community-driven events including game nights, social tasks, and open matchmaking sessions. To begin, players are encouraged to visit the official Sparkball website and register through the Preseason section, which can be found in the top right dropdown menu of the homepage. Registration is available using an email address, as well as Google and Facebook login options.
Once registered, players gain access to a dedicated Preseason dashboard. Here, they can activate the event code “SPARKS” to receive 250 free Friendship points. The dashboard also features a link to the game’s official web comic and includes a social task that allows players to earn 400 additional points simply by wishlisting Sparkball on Steam. A Community section on the site provides an event calendar with upcoming opportunities to earn more points by participating in official activities.
Sparkball Preseason Offers Big Rewards
Further opportunities to accumulate Friendship points will be available during Steam Next Fest, scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 16. During this period, players can join open matchmaking events and ranked matches to gain more points and experience the game in a competitive setting. Some future community events may also include the chance to receive early game access codes, although specific details have not been confirmed. The developers have not yet outlined the exact nature of the rewards tied to Friendship points, but participation may lead to in-game benefits or other incentives during Season Zero.
Sparkball Season Zero is set to begin later this summer and will introduce the game’s first formal progression system through a battle pass and rewards campaign. The Preseason period serves as a lead-in to this launch, offering dedicated players a chance to get involved early, become familiar with gameplay mechanics, and begin collecting Friendship points that may carry over into the full experience. With its mix of competitive play, community interaction, and early access rewards, Sparkball Preseason offers an entry point for players looking to engage with a new title in the evolving web3 gaming space.
