In a noteworthy development, Ronin, the Ethereum sidechain synonymous with Axie Infinity, is undergoing substantial growth. Insights from Nansen highlight that Ronin now hosts over 150,000 Unique Active Wallets (UAWs), with on-chain transactions surpassing 500,000 as of November 20th. Simultaneously, the native token RON is on the rise - experiencing a 13% increase, reaching a price of approximately $0.68, according to CoinGecko data. This adds to a moderate 37% rise over the course of a week and a steady 59% increase in a period of 30 days, indicating Ronin's growing influence within the web3 gaming ecosystem.
The catalyst for this growth is credited, in part, to the recent launch of Pixels on the Ronin network. Formerly on Ethereum's Polygon, Pixels migrated to Ronin, contributing significantly to the network's expanding user base. The game, reminiscent of classic 16-bit role-playing adventures, immerses players in a pixel-art world, providing opportunities for interaction, virtual land farming, engaging in mini-games, and earning token rewards. Pixels stands out with its integration of select NFT profile picture (PFP) collections. Holders of recognized NFTs like the Bored Ape Yacht Club and CrypToadz can seamlessly incorporate their avatars in-game, introducing an additional layer of personalization.
Pixels, the newly migrated social browser game, has surpassed 100,000 UAWs, injecting vitality into the Ronin blockchain. Recent data from DappRadar indicates a substantial 120% increase in UAWs over a period of seven days, elevating Pixels' UAWs from 4,000 to an impressive 111,000 since November 15th. In addition, Pixels is gaining monthly VIP subscribers at a steady rate. Shortly after its Ronin migration, Pixel founder Luke Barwikowski highlighted the game’s monetization model, which had accumulated 5,000 VIP members, each paying around $10 per month for premium in-game features. Barwikowski has posted a more recent update, stating that this figure is now more than double (around 11,247) which if maintained would generate $1.3 million on an annualized run rate.
Developed by Sky Mavis, the mind behind Axie Infinity, Ronin has strategically onboarded a handful of new web3 games onto its Ethereum scaling network. Titles such as The Machines Arena, Zoids Wild Arena, and the CyberKongz Play and Kollect game highlight Ronin's commitment to becoming a diverse ecosystem for web3 gaming enthusiasts. The positive momentum extends to Axie Infinity with the AXS governance token seeing a 42% increase over the course of one month, reaching a price above $6.00 dollars. Similarly, the SLP reward token experienced a 71% jump in the same period, hitting a price above $0.002 per token.
As the web3 gaming landscape evolves, Ronin's growth and its flourishing web3 ecosystem signal a promising future for web3 gaming enthusiasts. The diverse game offerings and NFT integrations underscore Ronin's commitment to innovation, solidifying its role in the ever-expanding web3 gaming universe.
