Studio369, the game development company behind blockchain-powered epic open-world shooter MetalCore, has announced that it will soon welcome over 1 million new players through a new partnership with Pixelmon and Mon Protocol, a preeminent publisher of blockchain-native IPs and gamers, and its Mission Platform.
As part of this collaboration, players will be able to complete a number of special quests in MetalCore to earn $MON Tokens, which can be used as the default currency to buy/sell digital in-game assets and for participating in Mon Protocol’s governance.
“We are thrilled to team up with Mon Protocol to offer our combined player communities an exciting new way to engage with both virtual worlds, earning meaningful and valuable rewards in the process,” said Matt Candler, CEO of Studio369.
Mon Protocol is a community-centric engagement and rewards platform that enables blockchain-native projects to reach larger groups of gamers and fans while building stronger IPs by rewarding loyal communities and including them in the IP’s long-term success through fractionalized ownership.
In the future, players will be able to exchange these Mission Points for $MON Tokens and spend them on all manner of digital collectibles within the MON universe, including the Pixelmon gaming IP, as well as freely trade or exchange them with others.
Since its launch in early February, more than 1.1 million users have already signed up for the Mission Platform, with over 600,000 sign-ups for wallets in-game. When the crossover missions go live, all these players will get a brand new way of earning $MON Tokens by playing MetalCore and completing unique MON-themed quests.
MetalCore is currently in Closed Beta and users with a Beta Access Code can enter and play the game to earn Marks, which they can claim for $MCG tokens at their Token Generation Event (TGE) later this year. Matt Candler, CEO of Studio369, expressed his enthusiasm stating:
“This collaboration yet again highlights the immense potential of web3, allowing players to transcend the boundaries of separate game universes thanks to the unprecedented interoperability enabled by blockchain tech.”
This collaboration further advances MetalCore's mission to build a truly player-driven ecosystem and offer robust in-game token utility. By creating a sustainable and interoperable in-game economy where tokens are at the center of gameplay and the core game loop, MetalCore enables players to shape the outcome of the game through their choices, influencing the narrative and economy like never before.
"Teaming up with MetalCore highlights just how limitless web3 gaming can be, bringing all sorts of new experiences to players effortlessly. It’s a big step towards making a digital world that’s not just easier to get into and more welcoming, but also more connected," said Giulio Xiloyannis, Pixelmon CEO and co-founder of Mon Protocol.
