Midnight Society, led by popular YouTube personality Herschel "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm, reveals Snapshot VII updates for their first-person shooter, Deadrop, at an event in Las Vegas.

The event took place at the HyperX Arena, transforming the Luxor hotel's casino floor into an esports arena. Attendees witnessed a live demonstration of Deadrop, with Dr. Disrespect and fellow gamers showcasing and testing out the new features.

High-Speed Battles

Snapshot VII introduces high-speed car battles, expanding the game's mechanics. Players can now move from their "Hideout" garage to the battlegrounds, participating in vehicular combat, scavenging, and on-foot extractions. Quinn Delhoyo, co-founder of Midnight Society and a former game designer on Halo Infinite and Gears of War: Judgment, highlighted the studio's aim to diversify gameplay.

"When we set out to create Midnight Society, one of the things was we wanted to change and redefine the industry. We wanted to get the best in the industry talent, which we’ve talked about—the game team—and combine that with the very best community in gaming." - Quinn Delhoyo, co-founder of Midnight Society.

NFTs and Game Access

As of now, only players with early access passes and Founders NFT ownership can access Deadrop's new Drivers' Key packages. These packages include car wraps, license plates, and exotic crates with cosmetics. It's important to note that neither the early access pass nor the vehicle packages are NFTs.

Rob Bowling, Studio Head at Midnight Society, revealed that the community's creativity inspired the inclusion of cars in Deadrop. Founders NFT owners, who currently have early access, played a pivotal role in this development.

"At Midnight Society we are committed to user-generated content (UGC) and player freedom. Players can create their own game modes, including unique experiences like a car-centric "Capture the Flag" mode. We also use various monetization methods, respecting different player preferences." - Rob Bowling, Studio Head at Midnight Society

Luxury Brands

While the current vehicles in Deadrop are creations of the game's team and not affiliated with real-world car brands, Bowling hinted at the possibility of luxury car brands joining the game in the future.

With the addition of high-speed car battles and innovative game modes, Deadrop continues to entice new mainstream players and web3 enthusiasts alike. Midnight Society's Snapshot VII event demonstrated their dedication to providing unique and engaging experiences for their community - more surprises are in store for fans and creators.
