Champions Ascension, a well-known web3 game, has announced that its servers will be temporarily shut down as the development team shifts its focus to REACH Labs. The shutdown, which includes Champions Ascension servers as well as associated features like Imperial Expeditions and Dudo, took effect last Friday.
The decision to pause Champions Ascension was made to allocate full resources and attention to REACH Labs. While details about REACH Labs remain limited, the project is described as an ambitious step toward redefining distribution in gaming and other industries. The technology being developed for REACH Labs is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Champions Ascension, though no specific timeline has been provided for its return.
Despite the game’s temporary pause, the team has confirmed that KEYS rewards will still be distributed. Players who participated in the pre-claim phase or earned KEYS through their Chrono XP level will continue to receive their rewards. This ensures that community members who have invested time in the game will still benefit from their participation.
REACH Labs, a new web3 game publisher formed through a collaboration between Rough House Games (creators of Champions Ascension) and Overworld. The aim of REACH is to enhance game publishing by integrating blockchain technology and community engagement. Led by serial gaming entrepreneurs Chris DeWolfe and Jeremy Horn, the team says thy are "tackling the challenge of user acquisition with an innovative platform that incentivizes players, influencers, and guilds to promote and share the games they enjoy."
While Champions Ascension is on hold, the team has reassured players that updates on the game’s future will be shared following the launch of REACH Labs. The developers have expressed gratitude to the player base for their engagement and support, recognizing the contributions of those who have been part of the game’s world.
This shift marks an important transition for the company as it explores new opportunities in web3 gaming. Although Champions Ascension’s future remains uncertain, the developers have indicated that the project is not being abandoned but rather re-evaluated in light of ongoing technological advancements. More details are expected once REACH Labs has been fully launched.
