Champions Ascension

Overview

Champions Ascension brings back the Roman empire's gladiator days, but this time in the Colosseum Eternal arena. The game brings with it a high stakes adventure fighting gameplay and rich lore of the characters living within Massina's world. Engage in gladiatorial combat as your chosen Champion strives to bring glory to his or her House in Massina. Whether you become forgotten in the Ministry of Bone, or ascend as an Eternal, your fate will be determined by violent clashes between the essences themselves. 

Develop your own story, and influence Massina. Collect, train, equip, and manage your own stable of brave and brutal gladiators. In Massina, they worship the god of combat. Blood on the sand symbolizes sacrifice, as legends are made in the Colosseum Eternal. With taverns, games, adventure, and political intrigue, you will be able to make new allies, venture into Massina, and experience an immersive world. 

Champions NFTs

The world of Massina revolves around Champions NFTs. Players will start off new characters as grunts and have to ascend them to challenger, gladiator and finally the eternal tier where they can become an NFT. As you fight in the arena, you will earn essence and other resources needed to level-up and ascend your champion.

Due to the fact that each part contributes to the Champion's abilities differently, this makes battles always feel fresh, as each Champion will be able to gain or lose different advantages based on the Family and Class it belongs to, as well as the essences of its parts. In addition to 12 Families, there are 6 Classes, 2 Families per Class, and 7 Essences that each Champion derives its power from. Their breakdown can be found below:

The Prime Eternal are the highest tier of champions and what all players in Champions Ascension should strive to have. They are a collection of 7622 NFTs that are all unique and no more will ever be minted again. They bring special perks for their holders, namely daily rewards, and having the strongest Divine combat parts.

Gameplay

The current alpha stage of Champions Ascension focuses on multiplayer PvP modes such as 1v1, 3v3, and Free-For-All. There's also a dungeon fight against the crocodile boss "Old Sally", with the promise of more PvE modes down the road as well. Your goal in each mode is the goal of every champion, stay alive and finish off your opponents.

The major factors that affect the battle for each champion are...

Family: dictates certain aspects of a champion's traits, including speed, health, damage, movesets, and the Fury of the Titans ultimate. 

Essence: A champion's core essence plays into how much damage you receive and take from other essence types. Each essence has an advantage against one other type of essence. 

Parts: Each champion that is ascended to the Challenger tier or above will have 5 part abilities. Each part provides the character with a unique special attack that is power rated based on the part's rarity and level.

Environment: Lure enemies into traps or knock them into lava to deal massive amounts of damage.

Each PvP mode also has a hardcore option in which you can earn the game’s premium currency of gold. Be careful though, if your champion dies in hardcore and isn’t eternal, it will face permanent death. Once dead the champion is only good for sending to the butcher to receive bone, used to craft and purchase other items.

Ascending to Eternal NFTs

As you recruit new champions, they will start out as Grunts that can ascend through the ranks to challenger, gladiator and eternal tiers. To level up your character you must battle and earn the essence of your opponents. Essence can be consumed raw to gain XP or crafted into crystals that can be traded to other players for crypto, or consumed for additional bonus XP. 

Both crystals and scrolls are needed to ascend your champion to the next tier. These items can be earned or crafted in game. You can also trade these items with other players on the marketplace. 

Each tier you gain will give your champion more power and also applies bonus XP to your account’s progression of Chrono XP. The higher tier your account is, the more rewards you earn. 

Ascending your champion to become Eternal will be a tough road. Once there you can transmute your champion into an NFT. Keep them for special bonuses and glory, or sell your powerful champion to other players, the choice is yours!

How to Get Started

The Alpha build of Champions Ascension is now available for download on their website (make sure to create an account first) or through the Epic Games Store. Be sure to download the game client and dive into the arena to defeat your enemies and ascend as a champion.
