Champions Ascension, the arena-based gladiatorial combat game, officially transitions from pre-alpha to alpha status, marking a significant milestone in its development. However, this shift brings a notable alteration to the game's structure as the open-world feature makes way for a streamlined interface comprised of menus and static screens.

The removal of the open-world aspect eliminates the virtual charm and social interaction potential that players previously experienced. Despite the shift, Champions Ascension aims to compensate by introducing key elements such as the in-game economy and the Champion progression system.

The core of the game revolves around arena combat, and while the removal of the open world may be disappointing to some, the developers have set their sights on enhancing other aspects of the gameplay experience.

One major highlight is the introduction of the game's economy, consisting of two crucial components: Gold and Essence. Gold, the primary currency, is earned through arena victories and by holding Prime Eternal NFTs. It plays a vital role in the in-game marketplace, summoning new Grunts, creating Crystals, and minting items to the blockchain.

Essence, on the other hand, is obtained through various means, including defeating opponents, completing quests, and receiving Chrono Imperium rewards. Players can utilize Raw Essence to gain Champion XP or Part XP, with the ability to convert it into Essence Crystals for trading between players. 

The process of creating Crystals is detailed in an official guide, available on their website. An official marketplace for trading Crystals and Champions is set to launch soon.

Champions Ascension, known for its unique generative playable PFP characters, offers diverse gameplay modes, including one-on-one combat, team fights, and the free-for-all Arena of Carnage. The NFT collections feature Prime Eternals, Elemental Eternals, Pets, and the Imperial Gallery.

Players can gain Chrono Imperium experience by holding Eternals in their wallets, collecting daily rewards and reaching various milestones. The game's future plans include additional arena variety, crafting, and custom player-made battlegrounds. Champions Ascension remains free to play, without the requirement of a wallet or NFTs.
