In a strategic move, Polish game developer BoomLand has announced the migration of its flagship web3 game, Hunters On-Chain, from Polygon's mainnet to Immutable's zkEVM. This development comes on the heels of Immutable's recent launch of its zkEVM mainnet, positioning Hunters On-Chain as one of the pioneering live games to adopt the innovative network.
The decision to switch platforms was primarily driven by the desire to enhance user experience, focusing on aspects such as faster transaction speeds, an improved interface, and notably lower gas fees. These were the same considerations that led BoomLand to initially deploy Hunters On-Chain on Polygon in 2023. However, like many other developers in the industry, the studio found that these expectations were not fully met over time.
Hunters On-Chain, a free-to-play fast-paced action RPG, made its debut in 2023 through browser platforms and later expanded to mobile devices. Serving as a sequel to BoomLand's web2 title, Hunters Arena, the game features a gradual introduction of quests and missions. The deeper web3 elements include Hunters and Chest NFTs, $BGEM tokens, and the native $BOOM token.
The game is also integrated with Horizon. /Sequence wallet solution SequenceKit, for a smoother onboarding experience. However, BoomLand's decision to migrate to Immutable's zkEVM signifies a shift in strategy, with the team anticipating a similar positive impact from the integration of the Immutable Passport in the coming weeks.
In an official statement, BoomLand expressed awareness of the challenges faced in the past year and emphasized that the move to Immutable's zkEVM is a strategic step towards overcoming these hurdles. The developer and Immutable share a common vision of seamless web3 gaming, emphasizing innovation, user satisfaction, and ease of use.
"We acknowledge the challenges that have arisen in the past year, and this move is a strategic step towards overcoming those hurdles. BoomLand and Immutable share a common vision — seamless web3 gaming for all, irresistible digital assets, and absolutely no compromises. Our values are deeply rooted in innovation, user satisfaction, and ease of use," commented BoomLand in the official announcement.
The integration of Hunters On-Chain with Immutable's zkEVM is expected to unfold over the coming weeks. To experience the game, visit the BoomLand website.
