About Ultra's $1 Million Grant Program

Ultra introduces a $1 million Developer Grant Program to fund web3 games, dApps, and tools within its blockchain ecosystem. Developers can apply for up to $250,000 per project.

Ultra, a blockchain-based gaming platform and web3 infrastructure provider, has announced the launch of a Developer Grant Program with a total fund of $1 million. The program is designed to encourage innovation and support development efforts across the Ultra ecosystem by offering financial assistance to individuals and teams working on web3 games, decentralized applications (dApps), services, tools, and infrastructure.

About Ultra's $1 Million Grant Program

The Developer Grant Program offers funding opportunities across three tiers. Micro Grants are available for early-stage concepts, including prototypes and minimum viable products, with a funding cap of $5,000. Seed Grants support projects that are further along in development, such as complete tools or dApps, and range from $5,000 to $50,000. Strategic Grants are intended for high-impact initiatives that contribute significantly to the Ultra ecosystem, including full-scale web3 games and infrastructure integrations, with funding amounts ranging from $50,000 to $250,000.

Grants are awarded based on a milestone-based funding structure. This means that once a project is approved, funding is distributed incrementally as specific project milestones are reached. The objective is to ensure that projects not only begin development but continue to progress and deliver measurable results aligned with the ecosystem’s goals.

Details of Application and Review Process

To apply for the Developer Grant Program, applicants are required to complete a submission form accessible through Ultra’s official grant program page. The form requests essential details, including the project name, contact information, a short description of the project, and a summary of the challenges it aims to address. Applicants must also provide an overview of their proposed solution, development roadmap, go-to-market plan, key performance indicators, requested funding amount, and intended use of the grant.

Additional supporting materials such as business plans or product demos can be submitted via a shared Google Drive link. Once submitted, applications are reviewed by Ultra’s Grant Committee, composed of team members and advisors from within the ecosystem. The committee evaluates proposals based on technical feasibility, alignment with Ultra’s network priorities, and potential impact. If a project passes the initial review, it moves to a community voting stage.

During this phase, holders of Ultra’s native token, $UOS, vote on a shortlist of projects. Successful applicants then enter into discussions with Ultra’s legal team to finalize funding terms and development milestones. According to Ultra, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis within a four-week review cycle. As of now, there is no official deadline for submitting applications.

Ultra's Ecosystem and Developer Resources

Ultra is built as a web3 gaming ecosystem and next-generation layer-1 blockchain. It includes a PC-based game distribution platform that functions similarly to traditional storefronts such as Steam, but with integrated blockchain features. One of its core offerings is an NFT marketplace based on Ultra’s proprietary Uniq NFT standard, designed to provide practical utility and ease of use for both developers and players. This standard supports low-cost deployment and integration of digital assets within games.

A key component of the Ultra blockchain is its focus on user accessibility. The platform offers zero gas fees for transactions, which reduces friction for both developers and users. The chain is optimized for performance, supporting high transaction throughput and low latency. In situations where the network approaches maximum capacity, developers can stake $UOS tokens to reserve network bandwidth and sponsor user transactions, which ensures their applications remain responsive and efficient. Transactions on the network are processed in under half a second.

Why Build on Ultra?

The platform is developed using the C++ programming language, making it accessible to a large pool of developers already familiar with the language. To further support development, Ultra provides a comprehensive set of tools including software development kits, APIs, analytics, WalletConnect integration, and an NFT explorer. This full suite of resources is aimed at reducing development time and costs, allowing creators to focus on building game experiences rather than navigating complex blockchain systems.

In addition to technical support, Ultra offers an integrated environment for launching and monetizing products. Developers can build and distribute directly through the ecosystem, with a 15 percent distribution fee. This is notably lower than the 30 percent fee standard on mainstream platforms such as Steam, Apple’s App Store, or Google Play.

Recent Milestones and Ecosystem Developments

Earlier in 2025, Ultra announced a partnership with THOMSON Computing to enhance digital game distribution in Europe and support local technology infrastructure. Additionally, the company raised $12 million earlier in the year to further invest in the growth and adoption of web3 gaming. These developments align with the broader goals of the Developer Grant Program, which is aimed at expanding the range and quality of content available within Ultra’s ecosystem.

The platform currently hosts several web3 games, including Blocklords, Champions Tactics: Grimoira Chronicles, and Ashes of Mankind: Citadels. Users can explore the ecosystem by downloading the Ultra launcher on Windows PCs. Developers can visit the official Developer Portal to access documentation and start building.

The introduction of the $1 million Developer Grant Program represents a strategic step toward enhancing Ultra’s position in the web3 gaming space by incentivizing the creation of high-quality projects that drive user engagement and ecosystem growth.
