Overview

MetaSoccer is a soccer management game that integrates Web3, offering players a chance to own and manage their soccer club. The game revolves around strategic management of teams, where players can participate in competitions, train their squad, and trade players and scouts. With a strong emphasis on decentralization, MetaSoccer provides a platform where gamers can genuinely own their in-game assets and have a say in the game's development.

Gameplay and Features

MetaSoccer offers a comprehensive soccer management experience where you are in control of building and leading your club to success. The game blends traditional soccer management elements with blockchain technology, providing a unique and immersive experience for players. At its core, MetaSoccer allows you to own, manage, and grow your soccer team, making strategic decisions that directly impact your club's success on the pitch.

As a club owner and manager, your responsibilities span several key areas. First, you’ll need to establish your team by hiring players and scouts. Scouts play a crucial role in MetaSoccer, as they are responsible for discovering new talent. Each scout comes with unique attributes, such as expertise in specific player roles (like Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, or Forward) and special abilities that can significantly affect the quality and potential of the players they find. For example, a scout with expertise in attacking roles might find players who excel in dribbling and finishing, while another might specialize in discovering strong defensive talents.

PPlayers evolve over time as they gain experience through training and matches. Their skills improve with regular training, which you can tailor to focus on specific attributes like attack, defense, or mental and physical abilities. Training sessions can include up to five players and target key skills essential for their roles.

The effectiveness of training depends on various factors, including the players’ current condition, age, and the type of drills used. Players also have a form attribute that changes based on their participation in matches and training, influencing their performance on the field.

The game also simulates the aging process of players and scouts, adding a layer of realism to the management experience. Just like in real life, players and scouts in MetaSoccer age and eventually retire. Players typically begin their careers between the ages of 14 and 19 and can play until around 35, after which they may transition into roles such as youth scouts.

Before each match, you’ll set up your team’s lineup and tactics, choosing from various formations, team mentalities, and passing styles that best suit your squad’s strengths. The lineup skill, determined by the collective skills of your players, plays a significant role in predicting match outcomes. Players’ performance on the pitch is influenced by their assigned roles, with their effectiveness decreasing if they play in unfamiliar positions.

MetaSoccer also offers a match simulation system that reflects the complexity and unpredictability of real soccer. During matches, players perform actions based on a set of heuristics, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, with their success determined by their skills and the decisions made by the manager. The game mode can change dynamically based on the referee’s decisions, adding an additional layer of strategy. For instance, if a player receives a yellow card, it may affect your tactical approach for the rest of the match.

NFTs and Blockchain

MetaSoccer integrates Web3 to give players actual ownership of their in-game assets. Every player, scout, and piece of land within the game is represented as an NFT, meaning you have complete control over these assets. You can trade them on the marketplace, use them to improve your team, or hold them as valuable items.

The game's economy is driven by the MSG token, which you can earn through various activities such as participating in the MetaSoccer League, trading assets, or lending players to other teams.

How to Get Started

MetaSoccer is currently running its Play-to-Airdrop campaign. To participate, you will need to obtain a MetaSoccer Pass, with details available here. Once you have your pass and set up your account, you can begin by creating your soccer club. You’ll start with a basic team and a scout, allowing you to get a hang of the game basics.

Scouting new players, training your team, and developing match strategies are key aspects of the gameplay. As your team grows and improves, you can enter the MetaSoccer League to compete against other players. Success in the league not only strengthens your team but also rewards you with MSG tokens, which you can reinvest in your club.
