Spy Inc. puts you in charge of a secret spy agency in 1946, where the war might be over, but the real battle is just getting started. It’s an idle PvP game on Base where you assign missions to your spies, then watch the results play out on-chain. Whether you play it safe or go for high-risk infiltration, every decision matters. With fully on-chain gameplay and real-time strategy, it’s all about timing, tactics, and surviving the shadow war.
Spy Inc. is a fully on-chain idle-PvP strategy game set in the year 1946, right after the end of World War II. The world may look at peace, but under the surface, secret spy agencies wage war in the shadows. Players take control of their own covert agency, sending agents on high-stakes missions every 12 hours in a turn-based format. Each decision you make matters — your spies can gather intel, defend your base, sabotage rivals, or even infiltrate and steal enemy agents. The entire game runs on the Base chain, with all outcomes, combat results, and rewards processed directly onchain.
Spy Inc. runs on 12-hour turns. Every spy you own can be assigned a mission during that window. After the turn ends, the game processes all actions simultaneously using smart contracts, resolving outcomes and distributing rewards. If you don’t change a spy’s action, they’ll repeat the previous one automatically. That means the game doesn’t require you to grind — just check in twice a day, make your moves, and adjust based on results. There are four core missions/actions you can assign to your spies:
Defend. This is the safest action. Your spy earns 50% of their base $INC reward per turn without risk. However, if you spam Defend too much, the returns drop by 1% per turn down to a 25% minimum. The rest of the rewards are either burned or added to a shared leaderboard pool, meaning even defensive players help fuel the game’s economy.
Recon. Instead of $INC, Recon earns Intel NFTs. These are used for crafting Schematics — items that grant temporary buffs or effects. Each turn guarantees at least one Intel, with a chance for more. The rarer your spy, the better your odds of pulling high-quality Intel. This is a long-term strategy play, focusing on crafting power-ups rather than immediate income.
Sabotage. This is the standard PvP mode. Your spy goes head-to-head with another player’s sabotaging agent. If a match is found (75% chance), the two spies fight. Winners earn 150% of base rewards (their own plus half the loser’s), while losers keep 20%. There's also a tiny chance (~0.2%) the losing spy dies. If no match is found, both spies get a default payout and a portion is burned.
Infiltrate. This is the highest-risk, highest-reward mission. Infiltrating spies also face other PvP agents, but if they win, they might either assassinate (kill) or convert (steal) the enemy spy. A win yields all your rewards, plus 80% of the opponent’s. If you convert the spy, you literally take their NFT into your collection. Losers face permanent loss — either by death or theft. Infiltrate is brutal, but potentially game-changing.
Spy Inc. is built for players who enjoy planning ahead and finding creative paths to victory. There’s no single meta — you can go all-in on PvP, play the long game with intel farming, or build a hybrid strategy. Every decision you make ripples across the economy, the leaderboards, and your agency’s long-term strength.
At the core of this system are your spies — unique NFT agents with their own names, traits, and rarity grades (from E to A). Higher-grade spies come with stronger stats and more unlocked skills. As you complete missions, stake $INC, mint new agents, or craft items, your spies earn XP. This lets you rank them up over time, improving their effectiveness and unlocking powerful abilities. There are seven total ranks, with key milestones that offer major upgrades. For example, Rank 4 unlocks bonuses like “Versatility,” while Rank 7 grants advanced passive skills like “Stealth” for elite-level missions.
To support more strategic play, Spy Inc. also includes a crafting system powered by Intel. When you send a spy on Recon, they won’t earn $INC — instead, they bring back Intel NFTs. These come in different rarities and can be combined to create Schematics. Schematics are one-time-use items that give strong tactical effects in missions, such as boosting your chances in combat or protecting a valuable agent. They’re soulbound, meaning you can’t sell them — if you want the edge, you’ll need to earn and use them yourself.
Each game season lasts 15 turns (roughly one week). Players earn leaderboard points based on their missions — the riskier the mission, the more points you get. At the end of the season, $INC rewards are distributed to the top players. This adds another competitive layer on top of the economy, encouraging both aggression and smart planning.
Spy Inc. runs entirely on the Base network, a fast and gas-efficient Layer 2 built on Ethereum. Every part of the game, from spy actions to PvP battles and intel drops, is handled by smart contracts. There’s no off-chain logic or hidden systems. Everything is transparent, on-chain, and fully verifiable.
The core assets in Spy Inc. are NFTs. Your spies are unique NFT operatives stored in your wallet, each with a codename, set of traits, and a rarity grade from E up to A. Intel collected from Recon missions is also issued as NFT loot, which you can trade or use to craft Schematics. Schematics are powerful one-time use items, but they’re soulbound to your wallet, so you can’t sell them. If you want to use them, you have to earn them.
The game’s economy runs on $INC, short for Invisible Network Credit. It’s the main utility token, used for minting new spies, ranking up agents, crafting schematics, staking, and more. You can earn $INC from missions, seasonal leaderboards, and staking vaults. What makes it different is how it's managed. Whenever $INC is spent, it either gets redistributed to other players or permanently burned, depending on the action. For example, if a spy loses in PvP, a portion of their rewards is removed from the supply. If you mint a new spy, that $INC is fully burned. Even passive strategies like Defend or Recon feed value back into the economy. There’s also a staking system for $INC holders. You can stake your tokens in single-sided vaults or provide liquidity through LP vaults.
The spies may stay in the shadows, but they move fast. Spy Inc’s whitelist round, which also serves as the Token Generation Event (TGE), begins on June 16, followed by the public round. The game is expected to launch on June 19, when players can start minting their operatives using $INC. Whether you're leading the infiltration or planning to join the agency after the dust settles, the choice is yours.
