Overview

SolForge Fusion is a unique deck-building card game where players take on the role of powerful Forgeborn, summoning creatures and casting spells to dominate the battlefield. Designed by Richard Garfield and Justin Gary, the game blends traditional card mechanics with an innovative fusion system, allowing players to mix and match faction decks to create one-of-a-kind strategies. The game is played on a five-lane battlefield, where creatures battle for control. The first player to reduce their opponent's health to zero wins.

Game Lore

The world of Solis was on the brink of extinction, trapped in an endless ice age where survival seemed impossible. That was until the SolForge appeared, a towering structure pulsing with arcane energy, keeping the last remnants of life alive. Over time, the survivors adapted to the magic, evolving into four powerful factions, each shaped by their own way of harnessing the SolForge’s energy.

The Alloyin embraced technology, replacing flesh and bone with steel and circuitry to master technomancy. The Uterra turned to nature, using biomancy to cultivate massive fungal habitats, protecting what little life remained. The Nekrium took a darker path, perfecting necromancy to build a civilization where the dead ruled over the living. Meanwhile, the Tempys refused to be defeated by the cold, mastering the power of the elements and forming nomadic clans that thrived in the frozen wastelands.

Each faction has its own way of surviving in this brutal world, but one thing is clear—control of the SolForge means power, and everyone wants a piece of it.

Gameplay and Features

In SolForge Fusion, building your deck is just as important as playing it. Each player picks two faction decks and fuses them together into a 20-card deck, setting the stage for a match full of strategy and surprises. The game moves through different phases: Draw, Action, Combat, and End, each one shaping how the battle unfolds.

You start by drawing five cards, then take turns playing creatures, casting spells, or activating abilities in the Action Phase. When it is time to fight, creatures in the front row throw hands (or claws, or magic) at whatever is in front of them, while unopposed creatures go straight for the enemy’s health. The turn wraps up with the End Phase, where you clear your hand, reset the board, and get ready for the next round.

SolForge Fusion also features a leveling system. Every time you play a card, its stronger version goes into your discard pile, waiting to be drawn in future turns. That means every match is not just about playing the right cards, but also about setting yourself up for bigger, stronger plays later. Picking which cards to level up and when is the difference between dominating the board or getting steamrolled.

Card Types

  • Forgeborn Cards – Unique heroes with three abilities unlocked over time.
  • Creature Cards – The core of combat, featuring Attack and Health values that persist.
  • Spell Cards – Instant effects that can alter the battlefield.
  • Minion Cards – Non-deck creatures that enter play via card effects.
  • Exalt Cards – Special lane-based cards that provide ongoing abilities.
  • Solbind Cards – Unique, double-sided cards that can transform into stronger versions.
