Ragnarok Libre Guide: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide

A comprehensive beginner's guide covering all you need to get started in Ragnarok Libre

Helo Gam3rs! We are back with another issue of a game guide, featuring Delabs’s Ragnarok Libre. The game just recently launched, and you’re not too late to jump into the nostalgic idle RPG and competitive grind it brings. Hop on in and let’s break it down for beginners.

Ragnarok Libre Guide

Ragnarok Libre Overview

From a gamer's point of view, Ragnarok Libre is a simplified and idle version of the classic hardcore Ragnarok RPG. At first glance it might look casual, but don’t underestimate it. The core mechanics are still here: endless mob grinding, job advancements, skill leveling, gear farming, card collecting, PVE battles, PVP arenas, loot drops, and marketplace trading. Everything you expect from Ragnarok, just in a faster and more idle-friendly package.

What makes the launch even spicier is the competitive angle. Season 1 comes with a massive prize pool of 30,000,000 $DELABS, running from August 11 to October 6. That means every dungeon you clear, every leaderboard you climb, and every emblem you earn can contribute toward real rewards. It’s both nostalgic and competitive at the same time.

Getting Started

Ragnarok Libre is played through the LINE platform. You can run it on browser or mobile, but the mobile version feels the smoothest since it is fully integrated with the LINE app. To begin, all you need is a LINE account. Once you’re logged in, you can dive straight into Midgard and start leveling your very first Novice.

Game Mechanics

Game Loop

Your character is dropped right into monster fields where combat runs on auto-battle. This is the idle side of the game. You hunt mobs, collect loot and Zeny, upgrade your skills and gear, then move into stronger fields. The loop is simple but addictive: fight, loot, upgrade, repeat. Higher-level fields drop better materials and give more EXP, which keeps the progression going.

Job Classes

You start out as a Novice, but at level 5 you can pick your first real class: Swordsman, Magician, Thief, or Archer. Each one leads into different second jobs and eventually third and fourth job promotions. Once you lock into a branch, you’ll stay on that path, though you can swap between jobs inside the same branch later. Every promotion adds more skills and keeps the old ones too, which makes your toolkit bigger and more flexible as you progress.

Skills

Skills are the backbone of your combat power. Active skills are your main abilities that you slot and use in combat, while passive skills are always on and boost your stats or effects. Each level up gives you skill points to invest, and every skill can be pushed up to level 30. Early on, focus on your strongest AoE and survivability skills so that farming becomes faster. As you climb jobs, you’ll gain new skills but never lose the old ones, so your character keeps growing in depth. Later in the game, special shadow cards can even awaken certain skills into stronger forms.

Quests and Missions

Quests keep your progress steady and give you direction.

  • Main Quests move the story forward and unlock game systems like job changes and dungeons.
  • Daily Quests refresh every day and hand out Zeny, RO Points, and items. They’re crucial for consistent growth.
  • Achievements reward you once when you hit milestones like certain levels or clearing big challenges.
  • Guild Quests unlock once you join a guild, and these give guild coins and consumables to support group content.

By mixing main quests for unlocks and daily quests for farming, you’ll always have something to do.

Currencies

Ragnarok Libre’s economy has a lot of moving parts, but here are the ones you’ll be dealing with early:

  • Zeny: The main money for upgrades, crafting, and most shops. It drops from mobs, quests, and dungeons. Without Zeny, your upgrades stop, so it’s your lifeline.
  • Nyangvine: The premium currency mostly from purchases. Used for rerolls, premium chests, and convenience boosts.
  • RO Points: Needed to list items in the Marketplace. Earned from completing daily quests and dispatching companions.
  • Guild Coins, Arena Points, Battle Coins: Unlock later through guild and PvP content. Used for endgame crafting and exchanges.
  • Poring Coins and Delabs Points: Event currencies for Season 1. Poring Coins are tied to the Delabs Pass and roulette minigames, while Delabs Points build up through pass missions and can also contribute to $DELABS rewards.

For beginners, focus on farming Zeny daily and completing tasks for RO Points.

Gear

Gear is your bread and butter for raising Battle Power. You equip six main pieces: weapon, armor, helmet, cloak, necklace, and ring. Normal gear provides your core stats and can be upgraded with Zeny and materials. Gear is ranked from one to five stars, with higher ranks unlocking more card slots.

Ragnarok Libre Gear

Shadow gear is a secondary layer that sits on top of your normal gear, giving extra stats and sometimes boosting skills. As you progress, you’ll be working on both sets. Gear upgrades can fail at higher levels, so be mindful of your Zeny. Focus your heaviest upgrades on weapons first for damage, then armor for survival.

Cards

Monsters drop cards that slot into your gear. Each card gives bonus effects, from stat boosts to skill enhancements. Normal cards go into normal gear, while shadow cards fit shadow gear. Cards can be upgraded to five stars with tickets and Zeny, though high levels have success rates that can fail. Extra cards can be dismantled for coins, which can be used for gacha rolls to chase new ones. For beginners, use whatever cards you get to fill slots, then slowly upgrade the ones that match your build.

Marketplace

The Marketplace is the player-to-player trading hub. Once you reach the required level and unlock the Exchange, you’ll be able to list your items for RO Points (making this currency super important), and buyers can purchase with Zeny. If your item sells, you collect Zeny from the mailbox. If it doesn’t, the item returns to you and you get your RO Points back. It’s perfect for buying missing materials or selling extra gear for profit. There’s even a leaderboard for marketplace trading, and climbing it contributes to earning Libre Emblems for seasonal rewards. In the near future, Zeny itself will also gain value outside the game through the upcoming Zeny Marketplace, where players will be able to trade it for $DELABS tokens, opening the door to more play-to-earn opportunities.

Beginner Tips and Tricks

1. Always Do Your Dailies

Daily quests and dungeons are your most reliable source of Zeny, RO Points, and EXP. Make them part of your daily routine.

2. Follow the Main Quest

When unsure what to do, progress the main story quest. It unlocks jobs, dungeons, and systems in proper order while giving big EXP rewards.

3. Spend Resources Wisely

Save heavy upgrades for 4★ or 5★ gear. Don’t waste too much Zeny on low-rank equipment you’ll soon replace. Prioritize weapon upgrades for faster farming.

4. Use Idle and Dispatch Systems

The Idle Tree and Dispatch missions provide free background farming. Collect often and keep dispatch running for RO Points, gems, and materials.

5. Check the Secret Shop

Refreshes can include rare upgrade items or cards at bargain prices. Always check when it resets.

6. Join a Guild

Guild quests and shops provide extra materials, and co-op content plus Guild Wars unlock later. Join early for smoother progression.

8. Season 1 Rewards

Compete for Libre Emblems by ranking in Battle Power, Zeny spent, PvP, or Marketplace activity. Combine them with Poring Coins from the Delabs Pass to earn part of the $DELABS prize pool.

See You in Midgard

And that wraps up our beginner’s guide for Ragnarok Libre. This is just the basics to get you rolling, and there’s way more content, events, and character growth waiting as the game goes on. We’ll be back with an advanced guide once things heat up. For now, stack your Zeny, don’t waste your Nyangvine, craft that 5 star gear, and grind your way to those sweet $DELABS rewards. See you out there in Midgard, good luck on the drops.
