Overview

Pixiland is a casual strategy game built around town-building, auto-battles, and resource management, all presented in a colorful pixel art style. You start with a small piece of land and gradually grow it into a functioning village by collecting resources, upgrading buildings, and assigning villagers to different tasks.

Combat isn’t fully hands-on. Instead, it follows an auto-battle system, making team composition and preparation the main focus before entering dungeons. Outside of combat, gameplay centers on improving production, upgrading heroes, and completing quests for in-game rewards.

Game Lore

Long ago, a prosperous kingdom thrived in harmony with the natural world. Seeking new adventures, a group of heroes left their homeland and set out on a long and difficult journey. They crossed dense forests and climbed towering mountains until they discovered a fertile valley hidden between high hills. Believing this place could offer a new beginning, they settled there and began building a village. Wooden homes were constructed, fields were planted, and farms were established to support the growing community.

Pixiland: Age of Heroes

As the village expanded, it developed into a fortified settlement with stronger structures and protective walls. To honor the journey and the leader who guided them through countless challenges, the people built a statue at the heart of the town. A stone tablet at its base recorded the key moments of their story, including their arrival, the battle against creatures from the forest, and the uniting of the villagers. In the game, players take on the role of the new village leader, responsible for continuing this legacy by building, protecting, and managing the land while facing both environmental threats and difficult decisions that shape the future of the community.

Gameplay and Features

In Pixiland, you’ll spend most of your time upgrading your village by unlocking and managing buildings. These include: Town Center, which controls your village rank. Upgrading this unlocks other structures and features. House increases your population, allowing you to have more villagers and assign more workers. Sawmill, Quarry, Farm, and Iron Mine produce the main resources such as wood, stone, food, and iron. Watchtowers unlock new areas such as dungeons or treasure maps. Resources are gathered over time, and each building can be upgraded to boost production speed. Everything you build feeds back into your overall progress, either by letting you produce more or unlock new parts of the game.

Dungeon System

Auto-battles and dungeon runs in Pixiland do not require real-time control. Instead, you assemble a team of heroes and send them into dungeons, where each run lasts for a random amount of time between 30 and 150 minutes. The rewards you receive depend on your heroes' stats and the difficulty level of the dungeon.

After completing a run, heroes enter an eight-hour cooldown period, which can be skipped by using gems. Dungeons come in three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Higher difficulties offer better rewards.

Heroes

The hero system in Pixiland is built around rarity and class. Heroes are categorized into five rarity levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare (SR), and Specially Super Rare (SSR). Only SR and SSR heroes can be minted as NFTs, giving them additional value and utility.

Each hero also belongs to a specific class. Tank heroes have higher health and armor. Bruisers are melee fighters with a balance of damage and durability. Marksmen focus on ranged attacks with strong basic damage. Mages deal high skill-based damage. Support heroes provide healing, buffs, or armor boosts. Assassins use burst skill damage and rely on a mix of attack types.

Heroes can be merged if you have two identical ones. Merging increases their star level, with a maximum of five stars. This merging mechanic is one of the key ways to strengthen your team, whether for dungeon runs or boosting resource production in your village.

Quests System

The game offers several types of quests:

  • Progress Quests: Track your village growth (e.g. resource collection, building upgrades).
  • Daily Quests: Reset every 24 hours, basic tasks for quick rewards.
  • Platform Quests: Encourage social interaction or in-game events.
  • Partner Quests: Collaborative quests tied to partnered platforms.

There’s also a Lucky Wheel feature where you can spin once a day for bonus rewards. It’s a small mechanic but adds a reason to check in daily.

NFTs and Blockchain

Pixiland only features NFTs in the form of Super Rare (SR) and Specially Super Rare (SSR) heroes. These heroes can be minted as NFTs and traded, giving them value beyond the in-game system. Their utility is directly tied to gameplay: NFT heroes can be assigned to resource buildings to increase production efficiency, and they also contribute to faster token generation when placed in mining pools. Unlike cosmetic NFTs found in other games, Pixiland's NFTs play a functional role in how players manage their village and progress through the game.

The in-game token, $wPixi, serves as a reward currency and can be earned through mining or dungeon runs. Once the Token Generation Event (TGE) takes place, it will be swappable at a 1:1 ratio with an off-chain version. Token earnings are influenced by hero rarity and star level, especially in the Mining Pool, which becomes available after reaching certain in-game milestones.

A separate Dungeon Pool also offers $wPixi but has a limited token supply, requiring players to plan their runs carefully. Pixiland also includes a referral system with multiple tiers, allowing players to earn points or small commissions based on the purchases of invited users. While participation in the token economy is optional, the NFT and token systems offer additional layers of progression for players who choose to engage with them.
