Onchain Heroes

Introduction

Onchain Heroes isn’t the type of game where you just click through and grind without thinking. Every decision is a gamble, and you need to know when to push for rewards and when to hold back. Outcomes are resolved onchain with no hidden modifiers, so whatever happens is final. If you’re into slow-burn strategy where you either win it big or lose it all

Overview

Onchain Heroes (OCH) is an idle RPG that takes a fresh approach to Web3 gaming. Developed by Skarly, a former lead developer at Wolf Game, the game brings fully onchain mechanics into the spotlight. Designed for players who enjoy strategy and calculated risks, OCH runs on the Abstract blockchain, aiming to deliver a fair and verifiable experience. Whether you’re a seasoned crypto enthusiast or just curious about web3 gaming, this project offers an opportunity to explore something new.

Onchain Heroes

In Onchain Heroes, players step into the role of heroes navigating a world shaped by risk and strategy. Every decision matters, and every move can lead to triumph or setback. Heroes are unique, animated, and customizable, giving players a sense of ownership over their journey. The game focuses on a decentralized world where player choices drive progression, challenging participants to make the most of their strategic thinking.

Gameplay and Features

Onchain Heroes offers gameplay that’s simple to learn but demands thoughtful strategy, making it accessible yet engaging. Players spend around 10-15 minutes daily making critical decisions that shape their progression, focusing on strategy rather than reflex-based skills. The game encourages dynamic playstyles through its Risk Protocol, where players can choose between safer, low-risk approaches or high-risk, high-reward paths, with every choice impacting their progress. Customization adds another layer of depth, allowing players to personalize their heroes with in-game cosmetics, while staking mechanics enable strategic investments in gameplay.

NFTs and Blockchain

Onchain Heroes features two types of Genesis NFTs. First, is the Genesis Heroes that serves as the core characters of the game and you will be needing one of them to play. Every hero starts out the same, with rarity affecting only cosmetics. Their appearance stays hidden until they’ve fought their first battle. Then there are the Genesis Rings, which give holders a share of the $HERO token supply and access to future airdrops.

Latest Game Updates (2025)

Earlier in 2025, Onchain Heroes progressed into its next phase with Season 2, which introduced a full seasonal reset and new gameplay challenges. All heroes began fresh for the season, keeping the game focused on decision-making rather than long-term stat advantages. The centerpiece of Season 2 was the addition of Dragma, a new boss encounter designed to raise the stakes of expedition decisions and reward players who are willing to take on higher-risk engagements.

The ecosystem side of the game also saw refinement. Genesis Rings continue to function as the passive economic layer of Onchain Heroes, giving holders a share of the $HERO token supply and maintaining their role in the broader reward structure. Rings do not affect combat or gameplay outcomes, but they remain relevant for players who want to participate in the game’s economy without directly committing heroes in battles.

How to Get Started

Onchain Heroes is now playable. First you'll be needing a Hero NFT to play the game. Once you have your OCH Genesis Hero NFT, you’re ready to jump in. First, visit the game website and connect your AGW wallet that holds your Genesis Hero. After logging in, head over to the Portal and send your hero IN BATTLE to start mining $HERO and earning rewards.
