Overview

What started off as an NFT project with adorable cats riding space saucers has now become one of the most anticipated games in the web3 gaming industry. Nyan Heroes brings an incredibly high quality battle royale experience for players to enjoy with various classes, equipment, and deep lore to keep everyone engaged beyond simply shooting enemies.

Nyan Heroes takes place on Nekovia, a once thriving world and home to the greatest civilization ever known in the metaverse. History never fails to repeat itself, and thus wars, rebellions, and treachery was the downfall of the great Nekovia.

After a millennia of turmoil and destruction, a technological breakthrough became Nekovia’s salvation and path to peace. The finest engineers and scientists at Starlight Corporation took it upon themselves to discover how to harness a new type of energy from Nekovia’s natural resources, eventually using it to power great machines that advanced their civilization technologically. 

Their experiments were successful and Nyans to expanded their reach, striking fear into the heart of their enemies and taking down anyone who dare stand in their way. With the amount of power within their hands, or paws in this case, they quickly burned through the newly discovered natural resource. It left the entire civilization on the brink of extinction. Its remaining hope at preserving life is in a handful of underground survivors who continue to fight on.

Gameplay and Features

In Nyan Heroes, the gameplay is all about fast-paced, objective-driven action where two teams compete to control key areas on the map. The teamwork aspect is the key, as players need to combine sharp shooting skills with the unique abilities of their heroes to outplay the enemy and secure victory. One of the coolest mechanics is the ability to switch between your massive Guardian mech and your cat pilot. Each form brings its own advantages, and mastering when to fight in your mech versus when to go agile as the pilot can really turn the tide of the battle.

Movement in Nyan Heroes feels smooth and responsive, with a real focus on the cat-like agility of your character. You can scale buildings, jump between rooftops, and use vertical traversal to gain strategic positions. This freedom of movement not only makes the combat more dynamic but also lets you discover hidden paths and surprise your opponents. Another great feature is the customization. While your mech’s core identity remains the same, you can tweak your loadout with different mods. These mods don’t make you more powerful but allow for tons of strategic flexibility depending on how you want to play.

Guardians

Through the power of Guardian Cores, each Nyan can summon a guardian. Guardians are a mighty ally in the fight against the Elementals. Every Guardian is different and when summoned, will be assigned unique mech parts. Your guardian's class dictates which parts are compatible with it and its playstyle, and the development studio made sure to cater to a wide variety of players offering them eight different classes to choose from.

1. Fighter: A balanced Guardian with average speed and health. The Fighter class excels at a mix of frontline and attack and is able to sustain damage for a short period of time.
2. Tank: The proverbial meatshield. Slow to move, but this Guardian can take a hit! The Tank is the most resilient Guardian class and has the strongest ability to take on damage.
3. Assassin: This Guardian does not want to be seen on the frontlines of any battle. Instead, they must sneak and use cover to eliminate high priority targets from behind.
4. Sniper: The Sniper would do well to avoid direct fire with the enemy. Armed with a high powered rifle, the Sniper class excels in taking out high priority mobile targets with a single shot, or at least forcing them to retreat and heal.
5. Medic: The only Guardian that has high speed and survivability. Your one goal is to move around the battlefield and keep your team members alive.
6. Scout: Fast and fragile, these Guardians are experts at scouting a new area and alerting your team of potential enemies, traps and other dangers
7. Mechanic: Slower and built like a tank, this Guardian would rather have his machines do all the dirty work for him.
8. Soldier: The Soldier is a well-balanced Guardian that aims to jump into fights and disrupt the enemy’s senses.

NFTs and Blockchain

Nyan Heroes currently features two interconnected NFTs: Genesis Nyan NFTs and Genesis Guardian NFTs. Genesis Nyans unlock the ability to mint Genesis Guardians, which are in-game playable characters. Owning both offers exclusive benefits like early game access, enhanced rewards, and unique in-game items. The game also uses $NYAN Token, its native in-game currency, which players can spend on minting items, unlocking rewards, and paying for marketplace transactions.

How to Get Started

Nyan Heroes is currently offering Pre-Alpha Playtest 03 on the Epic Games Store, allowing players to experience new game modes and test out new Guardians. This playtest also includes the opportunity for the players to earn $NYAN tokens through in-game missions.
