NomStead is a casual sandbox MMORPG that gives players full control over their land, economy, and creations. Developed by the NomStead team and powered by Immutable, it brings a slow-paced but rewarding building experience where players farm, craft, trade, and expand their world tile by tile.
The game focuses on player ownership and progression without forcing competitive pressure. Each player starts with a single plot of land and grows their settlement by collecting materials, constructing buildings, and unlocking new resources. The map itself is infinite. Each tile consists of 32 squares that players can freely modify, decorate, and develop. Standard land tiles are always available, while special tiles like forests and mountains are limited and yield unique resources. These special types encourage exploration and long-term economic balance.

Resource gathering is the heart of NomStead’s loop. Players collect materials such as wood, stone, and ore, then refine them into tools, structures, or decorative objects. Crafting plays a vital role in progression and will soon tie directly into combat, as players forge weapons and consumables for fights. A crafting cooldown system is also planned to prevent overproduction and maintain a fair economy.
Quests guide early progression. NPCs assign missions to gather materials or produce specific items, rewarding Gold, Silver, and experience points. Daily quests reset at midnight UTC, giving players routine objectives that encourage steady play.

Economy and player ownership are central pillars. Land, crafted objects, and certain resources are designed to be tokenized as NFTs, ensuring verified ownership. Standard tiles remain unlimited for accessibility, but special tiles are scarce, creating natural value. To keep the economy balanced, NomStead uses several burn mechanisms, including consumable use, gold sinks, and the removal of currency obtained through cheating.
Guilds are a major social feature currently in development. Players will soon be able to form groups by building a guild object on their land. Members can join, share resources, and collaborate on projects. Guilds are expected to become key to large-scale cooperation and territory building, eventually expanding into guild wars and shared infrastructure systems.
Combat is another upcoming feature. The first version will introduce one-on-one PvP battles in stadium tiles. These arenas allow players to pay entry fees, compete for prizes, and even host spectator tournaments. Stadium owners can set rules and collect revenue from fights. PvE content will follow, introducing monster battles and training encounters that consume crafted gear and resources. Combat will not only bring variety but also serve as an economic sink, keeping resource inflation in check.
NFTs and Blockchain
NomStead’s blockchain foundation is built on Immutable zkEVM, allowing players to own assets, trade securely, and interact with a real player-driven economy without gas fees. Every major in-game asset is planned to have on-chain representation, from land tiles and crafted items to collectible NFTs.
Land ownership sits at the core of this system. Players can purchase standard land tiles directly, while limited special tiles provide rare resources and unique environments. Ownership is recorded on-chain, meaning players can freely trade or sell their lands on Immutable’s marketplace.

Another key NFT collection in the ecosystem is the Genesis Chest series. These chests contain rewards such as land extensions, founder badges, and NomStead Visa memberships of varying durations. Some chests even include rare land types like stadium tiles, which will play a major role in upcoming combat and event systems.
The team has also confirmed that a fungible token is in development. This token is expected to serve as a medium for trading, crafting, and governance once the economy matures. Until then, the game operates on in-game Gold and Silver, with conversion to the main token planned after its launch.
