Wildcard Releases Official Trailer

Playful Studios, the creators of Words With Friends and Age of Empires Online, has released the official trailer for Wildcard, a card-based arena brawler. The trailer provides an overview of the game’s mechanics, highlighting strategic gameplay, competitive arena battles, and character abilities. It also showcases the visual style and design of the game, giving players a first glimpse at the experience ahead of its launch.

Free Demo and Early Access

Players will have the opportunity to try a free demo of Wildcard during Steam Next Fest, which runs from October 13 to 20. Following the demo, Early Access for the game will officially open on October 21. This schedule allows players to engage with the game before its full release and provides feedback that may influence the Early Access version.

Web3 Integration and Fantasy League

Beyond its web2 gameplay, Wildcard is also expanding into a web3 ecosystem through the Thousands community platform. A key feature is the Wildcard Fantasy League, where KYC-verified users can sponsor in-game characters using the WC token. While the token is currently airlocked in wallets and does not have a public trading price, its total supply of 88,888,888 establishes limited circulation within the ecosystem.

Sponsoring a character involves purchasing them at a set WC price, ranging from 4,750 WC for rookies to 28,500 WC for pros. When a sponsored character is drafted into the game’s season, sponsors receive a signing bonus in USDC and a share of the character’s in-game winnings. This system allows players to participate directly in the game’s esports economy.

Venue Ownership and Revenue Opportunities

In addition to character sponsorship, Wildcard offers the potential to own rights to in-game venues. These rights allow users to share in the revenue generated from the locations. Venue ownership is more exclusive compared to character sponsorship, reflecting the higher value and limited availability of these assets.

For further information on the Wildcard Fantasy League, token mechanics, and revenue-sharing opportunities, interested users can consult Wildcard’s whitepaper or visit the official Fantasy League website.
