Captain’s Crest Reward for Avatar Owners

Avatar owners in The Sandbox ecosystem are eligible to receive the Captain’s Crest, a virtual accessory that reflects the Pirate Month theme. The item is a traditional tricorn hat featuring a red bandana, golden trim, and a skull insignia. It is available to users who held an Avatar from either an official collection or a bridged collection as of June 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. UTC. The distribution is based on a snapshot of all wallets connected to The Sandbox accounts at that time.

The reward is part of The Sandbox’s broader effort to provide added value to its Avatar owner community. The Captain’s Crest can be used across experiences within the platform, allowing users to visually represent their participation in Pirate Month activities.

LAND Owners Receive the Dreadwake Ship

In addition to the Avatar reward, LAND owners are also being recognized with a unique item called The Dreadwake. This digital asset is a pirate ship designed to be placed and used within LAND parcels using the Game Maker tool. With its black sails and detailed design, The Dreadwake is meant to support the development of pirate-themed environments and experiences.

From July 9 at 2 p.m. UTC through July 31 at 2 p.m. UTC, LAND owners can earn SAND by participating in a community event focused on The Dreadwake. To take part, users must claim their reward and incorporate the ship into their LAND using Game Maker. They may choose to include the ship in existing experiences or develop new content entirely. Once the experience is published on The Sandbox map, users are eligible to receive a share of a 15,000 SAND reward pool.

This event is designed to drive engagement with platform tools while rewarding users who actively contribute content. All valid participants who follow the outlined steps will receive an equal share of the reward pool, reinforcing The Sandbox’s commitment to community-driven content creation.
