The Machines Arena (TMA) has announced the launch of Beta Season 1, set to start on July 11. The announcement marks the beginning of seasonality in the live operations of the game. This move aims to foster retention within the existing player base and entice early adoption from the broader web3 gaming community.
The Machines Arena was one of our top 5 web3 games in April. The launch of Beta Season 1 will come with a major game client update, introducing a reworked player vs. environment (PVE) mode, a new player vs. player (PVP) map, and Beta Rewards in the form of collectible character skins. Each season will feature unique challenges and rewards, offering players enticing opportunities that they wouldn't want to miss.
As the title suggests, Beta Seasons are a part of the Closed Beta phase of TMA's development. When the game moves past this phase, the season number will reset to one and the nomenclature will change.
TMA has also revealed future plans to enable players to mint their collectible skins into NFTs on the Ronin network. Once the game reaches version 1.0, rewards obtained during the Closed Beta phase will no longer be obtainable, thus increasing their desirability.
The Machines Arena Beta Season 1, which ends on September 26, brings along with it a host of new features and improvements. These include a revamped 'Death Run' PVE mode, a new protagonist named XE, player companion NPCs called 'Familiars', and an updated meta map for selecting difficulty levels. The client update also introduces weapon and ability XP, shields and armor mechanics, and several quality of life changes. Shortly after the game's release, the players enjoyed a new mode, Detonation.
There will be eight collectible character skins available during this season, divided into two categories: Beta Rewards, which can be unlocked through gameplay, and Loyalty Rewards, available only to specific community groups.
Beta Rewards will be awarded based on players' account level. They can be unlocked by anyone playing TMA and XP can be earned through Quick Play or Death Run. Four skins will be available during Beta Season 1, and players can view their account level within the profile page in-game.
Meanwhile, Loyalty Rewards are designated for early adopters, creators, and other specific player groups. They cannot be unlocked in-game. Four unique skins will be assigned to these groups, with opportunities for partnerships to create custom Loyalty Rewards in the future.
As The Machines Arena introduces Beta Season 1, players are set to immerse themselves in an updated, engaging, and rewarding gameplay experience. The race for the exclusive Beta and Loyalty Rewards is about to begin.
