The Beacon has confirmed new dates for its public playtest on the Epic Games Store, running September 4–7. Players can preview Phase 2 upgrades, fresh dungeons, and exclusive rewards.
The team behind The Beacon has officially confirmed updated details for its highly anticipated public playtest on the Epic Games Store. The event is now set to begin on Thursday, September 4, 2025, running through Sunday, September 7, and will give players another chance to experience the game’s Phase 2 upgrades before the full shift into a seasonal model.
The rescheduled public playtest officially goes live on September 4 at approximately 14:00 UTC, with access closing on September 7. Unlike previous closed tests, this event is open to all players via the Epic Games Store and remains free to try during the limited window. According to the studio, the purpose is to stress test the upgraded client and provide the community with direct access to new features.
The Beacon Public Playtest New Details
Participants will be able to preview Phase 2 additions, which bring an overhauled combat system, new enemies, powerups, and expanded dungeon challenges. Those who take part will receive the Adventurer’s Backpack, a new account-bound backslot cosmetic item. In addition, creator-led activities will distribute the Seeker’s Mantle, a limited exclusive NFT reward tied to collaborations and community events.
This public playtest remains part of the broader transition toward a seasonal update model. After the event concludes, developers plan further stress tests in late 2025 before the official launch of Season 1 in early 2026. That rollout will introduce new biomes, procedurally generated dungeons, weapons, and expanded social gameplay features, positioning The Beacon to evolve as a long-term live title.
