The Beacon is a free-to-play fantasy action roguelite RPG developed and published by Skillcap Inc. The game combines fast-paced combat with MMO-inspired features such as cooperative gameplay, social hubs, and long-term progression. Players explore procedurally generated dungeons, encountering different enemies, paths, and items in each run.
The game’s story centers on the world of Altaris and the fading light of the Beacon, which has historically protected humanity from the forces of Umbra. Settlements like Dawnport act as social hubs where players can gather, undertake quests, and display their achievements and loot. Players also have the ability to customize their characters and personal settlements.
The Beacon is available for Windows and Mac and integrates web3 technology, allowing NFT-based rewards to be earned through gameplay and participation in events such as the Ronin playtest.
