Summer Game Fest 2025 Recap
Here’s a complete list of the games mentioned in our Summer Game Fest 2025 recap:
After months of speculation, Capcom has finally revealed the next mainline entry in its survival horror juggernaut — Resident Evil Requiem. Previously referred to as Resident Evil 9, the game is set to launch on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Capcom teased a tonal shift for the series, calling this one “cinematic high-stakes action,” but stopped short of offering deep story or gameplay details. One thing’s for sure — Resident Evil isn’t done evolving.
No waiting around for this one — Lies of P: Overture, a prequel expansion to last year’s soulslike hit, is available right now. The DLC drops players back into the haunting city of Krat, expanding on the game's grim world and lore. First impressions and reviews are already surfacing, so if you’re itching to dive back into puppeted chaos, now’s your chance.
Techland returned with Dying Light: The Beast, a standalone story that brings back fan-favorite Kyle Crane. The game is officially launching on August 22, 2025, and a brand-new gameplay trailer gave a solid glimpse of what to expect — parkour, melee combat, and lots of infected.
One of the most unique announcements of the show was Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, an anime-inspired action adventure title set in a surreal version of Shaolin. Players will fight back against a corrupt force with help from the Wu-Tang Clan themselves. Expect combat, co-op play, and a soundtrack featuring both classic Wu-Tang tracks and original beats by Just Blaze.
Capcom’s Onimusha is back in full force. A new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword showed off brutal melee combat, bloody finishers, and that classic samurai horror energy. No release date yet, but the footage alone was enough to keep longtime fans interested.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros was officially revealed as a real-time strategy game that puts you in command of the Great Houses — and even the Night King. Whether you want to fight for the Iron Throne or freeze over Westeros, this new title promises both solo and multiplayer campaigns when it launches.
Arc Raiders is officially launching on October 30, 2025. The PvE sci-fi shooter from Embark Studios got a new trailer at the show, confirming the release date for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. More details are coming soon, but fans of co-op action shooters will want to keep this one on their radar.
In a crossover twist, Hitman World of Assassination is letting players go after Le Chiffre, the Bond villain portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen is reprising his role in this limited-time Elusive Target mission, giving players a stylish, casino-themed kill opportunity.
Bryan Lee O'Malley is back with a new Scott Pilgrim game called Scott Pilgrim EX. It’s a co-op brawler with that familiar comic book aesthetic and side-scrolling gameplay, headed to PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. No release date yet, but fans of the original beat-em-up should feel right at home.
Mortal Shell 2 kicked off the show with its official reveal. The sequel promises expanded weapon customization, deeper exploration, and a more open-world structure. The gameplay looks as grim and gory as ever, and Cold Symmetry is aiming for a 2026 release on PC and consoles.
Killer Inn is Square Enix’s take on social deduction. Players are dropped into a haunted mansion, divided into two teams: Wolves and Lambs. The twist? The Lambs don’t know who’s on their team, and figuring it out before getting picked off one-by-one is the key to survival.
Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach got a fresh story trailer that shifted the focus to two new characters, Neil and Lucy, played by Luca Marinelli and Alissa Jung. The game is still on track for a June 26, 2025 release, exclusively on PS5.
Moonshot Games, a studio made up of former Blizzard developers, announced Wildgate, a cross-platform space shooter arriving July 22, 2025. Even better, an open beta kicks off June 9 and runs through June 16 on all platforms, giving players an early chance to jump in.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio finally gave Project Century a proper title: Stranger Than Heaven. The new trailer gave us a better look at the story and style of the game, though platforms and a release window remain unconfirmed.
Bandai Namco introduced Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, a Hades-like action game with colorful visuals and fast-paced gameplay. It’s heading to all major platforms — PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S — on September 19, 2025.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is bringing an unexpected lineup of guest racers, including Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon, Joker from Persona 5, and even Minecraft’s Steve. No word on the full roster yet, but it looks like Sega is leaning hard into crossover chaos this time around.
Mundfish isn’t done with the Atomic Heart universe. Atomic Heart 2 is officially in development, alongside The Cube, another title set in the same world. Both are coming to PC and consoles, though no dates or gameplay details have been confirmed yet.
Lego Voyagers, a new two-player co-op adventure, was announced by Light Studio. It includes a Split Fiction-style friends pass, meaning only one player needs to own the game to play co-op. It follows the studio’s previous work on Lego Builder’s Journey.
ILL, the body horror survival game from Team Clout, made a terrifying return with new gameplay footage. It featured grotesque dismemberment mechanics and a chilling atmosphere as players make their way through a mysterious research facility.
Tom Hardy narrated the debut trailer for Chronicles: Medieval, a large-scale strategy game featuring horseback battles and castle warfare. The game is expected to launch in early access for PC in 2026.
Summer Game Fest 2025 packed in a ton of content, giving players a roadmap for what to look forward to in the next year — and beyond. Whether you’re waiting for massive sequels like Resident Evil Requiem or intrigued by new IPs like Killer Inn and Wildgate, the rest of 2025 is looking strong for gaming.
