Riftstorm Demo Launches for Steam Next Fest

Confiction Labs and Agate have released the first public demo for Riftstorm as part of the Steam Next Fest, running from June 9 through June 16. The free demo gives players access to a range of new content following the game’s earlier open alpha playtest. It marks the first opportunity for a wider audience to explore Riftstorm’s gameplay ahead of its eventual full release.

Free Riftstorm Demo

The Steam Next Fest demo introduces four fully-unlocked Weavers, Riftstorm’s distinct playable characters. Each Weaver is available at level 30, allowing players to explore their full capabilities from the start. While weapons still require in-game progression through missions, players can immediately experience the advanced abilities and playstyles of each character.

Included in the demo are four curated missions. Two of these are standard combat dungeons intended to provide players with opportunities to earn gear and explore core combat mechanics. The other two missions, Operation 1411 and Operation Marble Obelisk, offer more specialized challenges. Operation 1411 is a survival-extraction mode that emphasizes a tower defense-inspired format. Operation Marble Obelisk follows this up with a final confrontation that builds on weapons and gear acquired in the earlier mission, creating a sequential and more tactical gameplay experience.

Simplified Loadout and Periapt System

In addition to mission content, the demo introduces a simplified loadout and Periapt system designed to streamline character setup. Players can choose to engage in the game solo or participate in online multiplayer co-op with up to three players. The demo supports full cooperative functionality and continues Riftstorm’s focus on replayable, isometric roguelite action.

Riftstorm’s demo is available for Windows 10 and 11 operating systems. It requires a minimum of an Intel Core i3 8th generation processor, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 1050 graphics card, and 8 GB of available storage. For an improved experience, the recommended setup includes an Intel Core i3 10th generation processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 3050 graphics card. Interested players can download the demo directly from the game’s Steam store page during the event period.

Giveaway Offers Up to $10,000 in Prizes

Alongside the demo release, Riftstorm is also hosting a wishlist giveaway in partnership with the web3 rewards platform Raijin. This promotion allows participants to earn entries toward a prize pool of up to $10,000 by interacting with the game on Steam. Players receive ten entries by wishlisting the game and five additional entries by adding it to their Steam library.

To join the giveaway, users must sign up on Raijin’s official platform using their Steam account. The event runs from June 9 to June 18, closing at 10 PM UTC. A total of 400 winners will be randomly selected at the conclusion of the giveaway. Those drawn earlier in the selection process will receive a larger share of the prize pool.

The final size of the pool depends on the number of total participants, with higher participation unlocking higher reward tiers. As of now, more than 2,000 participants have registered, placing the prize pool at $2,500. Additional sign-ups will raise the prize tier, with tier five requiring around 500 more participants to reach a $5,000 total.
