Star Atlas has announced the release of SAGE Labs, the world's first Web3 space economy simulation game designed for Solana's network and play-to-earn (P2E) gamers. This browser-based, open-world game offers real-time gameplay and a life-like economy where players can gather, craft, trade, and prosper entirely on Solana.
SAGE Labs, which stands for Star Atlas Golden Era, incorporates the most advanced technology stack in a blockchain-enabled Web3 game, storing the entire game logic and game state on the blockchain. The game integrates with various Star Atlas and Solana ecosystem features, including a referral program with incentives and a decentralized character management system.
One of the game's standout features is a $1.5 million Golden Ticket promotion. This multifaceted event includes crafting assets, redemptions for NFTs, and a weekly drawing worth $150,000 USDC for eight weeks, allowing players to craft a very rare item known as a Golden Ticket.
Michael Wagner, Co-founder of Star Atlas and CEO of ATMTA, Inc., lauded SAGE Labs as a monumental stride for the Web3 industry, highlighting its potential to redefine the next generation of P2E gaming.
The game’s mechanics include exploration across 51 solar systems, extraction of resources by mining asteroids, crafting of materials and components, fleet management, and an engaging economic loop. All game assets are on-chain, with new ones continually introduced, making the game a cutting-edge example of decentralized gaming on the Solana Mainnet.
SAGE Labs is not only a remarkable development in blockchain gaming but a precursor to an upcoming SAGE release titled SAGE: Starbased, anticipated to become the largest fully on-chain browser game in blockchain history.
The new game's website, labs.staratlas.com, is expected to launch soon, opening a new frontier for gamers to gather, craft, trade, and prosper in the vast universe created by Star Atlas, all on Solana's efficient and scalable network. Despite the massive layoffs, Star Atlas has been doing pretty well the past period, with a partnership with MetaGravity to support over 30,000 concurrent players in a single game environment then was followed up by giving the community a more in-depth look on the impressive statistics Escape Velocity managed to accumulate while it was live.
