In a significant move to simplify the transaction process for its users, Sorare, the web3 fantasy sports game, has teamed up with Mangopay to introduce Cash Wallet, a platform that enables fans to make purchases using real-world or fiat currencies.

Traditionally, Sorare's five million registered users transacted using cryptocurrencies. However, the new Cash Wallet feature will allow users to make payments using fiat currencies such as the U.S. dollar, the euro, and the British pound sterling.

The implementation of the Cash Wallet significantly lowers the barriers to entry in the Sorare platform and the broader Web3 industry. This initiative simplifies the user experience for existing players and encourages the participation of new users in the fantasy sports games and marketplace offered by Sorare.

Nicolas Julia, CEO of Sorare, expressed his belief in the transformative potential of blockchain technology. However, he stressed the importance of accessibility, stating, "new technologies must be accessible to all if they are to fulfill their potential. The launch of Cash Wallet is key to our goal of making Sorare as simple and user-friendly as possible for all sports fans."

Sorare stands at the crossroads of collectibles and fantasy sports. Its unique proposition enables digital card ownership, verified by blockchain for authenticity and scarcity, in games such as soccer, baseball, and basketball. This feature allows players to monetize their digital cards across seasons and games.

Commenting on the partnership, Mangopay CEO Romain Mazeries highlighted their commitment to shaping the next era of payments and emphasized the strategic importance of collaborating with Sorare, an industry leader with over 5 million registered users.

Since its launch in 2018, Sorare has collaborated with some of the world's most significant leagues and teams, including the Premier League, MLB, MLS, and NBA. It has also attracted sporting icons such as Lionel Messi, Serena Williams, and Zinedine Zidane as investors, ambassadors, and advisers.

The launch of the Cash Wallet represents a major milestone in Sorare's long-term strategy to grow its user base and establish the largest sports community worldwide. The feature will be available to all Sorare Managers from early August, ahead of the start of the European football season, the 2023 MLB Postseason, and Season 2 of Sorare: NBA.
