SHRAPNEL, a well-known web3 shooter game, recently participated in the "web3.0 Games and International Digital Copyright Cooperation" seminar in Beijing. Hosted by the Beijing Copyright Association, the event brought together industry leaders and government officials to discuss digital copyright management and international cooperation. The association’s chairman, a former Deputy Minister of the Beijing Municipal Committee, welcomed SHRAPNEL to Beijing and expressed support for its role in strengthening global digital asset rights, issuance, trading, and protection.
SHRAPNEL Partners with Chinese Government
During the event, SHRAPNEL finalized an agreement with the Trusted Copyright Chain, a blockchain-based platform that authenticates digital copyrights. Through this partnership, SHRAPNEL’s in-game assets, including characters and props, will be officially recognized on the platform, allowing for their compliant issuance and trading within China.
This makes SHRAPNEL the first foreign game company to receive authorization to issue digital gaming assets in the country. Additionally, the partnership is expected to contribute to the expansion of digital rights management within the esports industry, with SHRAPNEL planning to introduce collectible digital avatars and other derivative digital assets to support the "Digital Rights + Esports" ecosystem.

In addition to its collaboration with the Trusted Copyright Chain, SHRAPNEL has entered preliminary discussions with Lingjing People’s Game Labs, a digital content platform under People’s Daily. These discussions focus on ensuring the compliant issuance, circulation, and localization of SHRAPNEL’s digital game assets in the Chinese market. By leveraging Lingjing People’s Game Labs’ expertise in digital content regulation and distribution, SHRAPNEL aims to establish a stronger presence in China while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Lingjing People’s Game Labs, founded in 2024 by JINBAODIANZI under People’s Daily, specializes in digital asset transformation, cultural digital certification, and gaming industry monitoring. The organization is committed to fostering a sustainable gaming industry and is exploring ways to integrate SHRAPNEL’s content into its platforms, enhancing cultural exchange and the adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming sector.

Ken Rosman, CEO of NeonMachine, the development studio behind SHRAPNEL, emphasized that this agreement represents an important step in establishing a global framework for decentralized gaming models. He noted that it provides a pathway for international expansion while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Xuan Hongliang, Director of the National Operations Center of the Trusted Copyright Chain, described the collaboration as China's first export of a digital asset rights solution based on "Digital Copyright Certificates + Trusted Copyright Chain." He explained that this initiative not only supports the growth of China’s digital cultural industry but also enables international digital content to enter the Chinese market through a compliant and transparent process. He further stated that this model offers a viable solution for integrating real-world assets (RWA) into the global web3 gaming ecosystem.

SHRAPNEL is recognized as a AAA web3 blockchain-based shooter game, developed by a team with experience in major franchises such as "Halo," "Star Wars," and "Assassin’s Creed." The game utilizes blockchain technology to allow players to create, trade, and own digital assets within a decentralized ecosystem. Its collaboration with the Chinese government and regulatory bodies reflects a growing trend of integrating blockchain-based gaming within traditional digital infrastructure.
By working with the Trusted Copyright Chain and Lingjing People’s Game Labs, SHRAPNEL is positioned to set a precedent for how digital rights and blockchain technology can be applied within the gaming industry. As the first foreign web3 game to be licensed for digital asset issuance in China, its success could pave the way for further collaboration between international gaming companies and Chinese regulatory authorities. The first outcomes of these partnerships are expected to materialize in 2025, marking a significant development in the intersection of gaming, blockchain, and digital rights management.
