Rumble Kong League is a prominent NFT collection within sports enthusiasts, and with how scare web3 sports games are, they have everyone's attention. Their merchandise has been seen around the NBA worn by the likes of Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry and Los Angeles Clippers' Paul George. Their basketball game has been teased numerous times with screenshots, gameplay snippets, and on tons of marketing material.

The latest announcement gives everyone partial access to the Game Design Document and brings with it a plethora of new information on the current state of development and what is coming up next for Rumble Kong League. For those of you unfamiliar with GDDs, they are documents developed by the studios that dictate how every aspect of the game will work. This includes everything from the core game loop to all the mechanics and systems around it.

One of the most noticeable changes since the gameplay footage shared in June earlier this year is the Kong AI and their responsiveness to player actions. The team revealed they successfully revamped the whole AI, and managed to simulate a 2D model to enable simulating any changes to the AI and see its direct changes on the fly. This helps massively in quickly identifying points of strengths and weaknesses, and addressing them in timely manners.

What made games like NBA Jam massively popular is its unusual and out of the box approach to the genre, with powerups and flashy BOOMSHAKALAKA highlights. Rumble Kong League took the opportunity to reveal Abilities. These will give your characters boosts ranging from basic effects like temporarily increasing run speed to fireballs being dunked from the 3-point-line. These will undergo internal testing within the next 4-6 weeks, and will supposedly be present within the Alpha version of the title available later this year.
