In the ever-evolving landscape of web3, the newly migrated social browser game Pixels has been gaining a lot of attention from crypto enthusiasts. Last month, according to data from DappRadar the game registered over 115,000 Daily Active Unique Wallets (DAUWs) on Sky Mavis' Ronin blockchain. Ronin is the Ethereum sidechain most well known for the web3 game and blockbuster IP Axie Infinity. Pixels only recently announced their new Guilds features coming to Pixels Chapter 2. Now, according to CEO Luke Barwikowski, Pixels is set to introduce two in-game currencies: $BERRY and $PIXEL. While $BERRY functions as the game's primary cryptocurrency on the Ronin blockchain, $PIXEL, the premium currency, is yet to launch. Upon its debut, $PIXEL will unlock various in-game benefits, including the ability to mint new land NFTs, accelerate build times, boost character energy, unlock experience (XP), access crafting recipes, and acquire pets and character skins, as detailed in the game's whitepaper.
The forthcoming $PIXEL token launch has prompted Pixels Game CEO Luke Barwikowski to provide crucial insights. Addressing the community on Twitter, Barwikowski clarified that there will be no surprise drop, emphasizing transparency and cautioning against potential scams. "We will not surprise drop $PIXEL," Barwikowski stated on social media. "Be very careful over the next couple of months. People will try to scam you. You will know when $PIXEL is coming—we'll be noisy as hell during the lead-up." This announcement serves as a proactive measure to address prevalent issues in the web3 space, where scams and deceptive marketing tactics are a concern. Barwikowski's message assures the community that unexpected announcements are likely scams unrelated to the game. Supporting these assurances, a Discord screenshot reveals Barwikowski's commitment to transparency. Gamers will receive at least three days' notice before any PIXEL token launch, providing ample time for those with Ronin's $RON token staked to "unstake" or unlock their tokens.
In other related news, the recent integration of Binance Pay into the Ronin crypto wallet offers added convenience and safety for Pixels Game enthusiasts. This partnership integrates the Deposit from Binance feature into the Ronin Wallet mobile app. That means users can make deposits from the Binance app without scanning or copying wallet addresses for a small fixed fee. The auto-conversion feature also makes it possible to convert assets held in Binance for Ronin assets. For example, convert ETH on Binance for SLP on Ronin. The following Ronin assets are now available through Binance Pay: AXS, SLP, and USDC. This enhancement allows users to seamlessly import funds from their Binance exchange accounts into their Ronin wallets, solidifying Ronin as an Ethereum sidechain network built for web3 games. As anticipation for the $PIXEL token builds, Barwikowski's dedication to transparency remains evident. Players and crypto enthusiasts can trust that Pixels Game navigates the web3 landscape with a commitment to clarity and integrity.
