Ragnarok Landverse Genesis, a new iteration of the long-running Ragnarok Online MMORPG, is set to launch on the Ronin blockchain. Developed by Maxion and published by Gravity, the game maintains its signature 2D anime-inspired world while introducing modern elements such as blockchain-based assets and cross-platform gameplay. The game will initially be available on PC, with a mobile version currently in development to ensure seamless access across devices.
The game has already attracted significant attention, with pre-registrations surpassing 395,000. Interested players can register on the official website to secure a spot ahead of the full release. Ragnarok Landverse Genesis will conduct a Closed Beta Test from February 20 to 26, 2025, allowing selected players to experience the game before its official launch. This testing phase will focus on refining gameplay mechanics, character progression, and server performance. Developers will use player feedback from the beta to make necessary adjustments and improvements.
Ragnarok Landverse Genesis Key Art
Ragnarok Landverse Genesis retains the core MMORPG elements that defined the original Ragnarok Online. Players can create and customize characters, explore an expansive world, complete quests, and engage in various combat scenarios. The game features a diverse selection of job classes, each offering unique abilities and playstyles. Wizards, for instance, specialize in powerful magic attacks, while other classes provide different strategic advantages.
Guild-based competition remains a key aspect of gameplay, with the return of the War of Emperium mode. This feature allows guilds to compete for control of castles, which provide in-game benefits and strategic advantages. Additionally, the game introduces an automatic progression system that enables characters to fight and collect resources even when players are offline. This system ensures that progress continues even for those who cannot play actively.
Details on Ragnarok Landverse Genesis Closed Beta
Ragnarok Landverse Genesis operates on the Ronin blockchain, which supports low-cost and efficient gaming transactions. The game offers optional blockchain-based features, allowing players to own and trade in-game assets such as character skins, weapons, and collectibles. A resource-mining system also enables players to earn blockchain-based rewards through in-game activities.
Developers have confirmed that the integration of blockchain technology will not affect core gameplay. Players who prefer a traditional MMORPG experience can enjoy the game without engaging with NFTs or blockchain-based transactions. The web3 features are designed to be an additional option rather than a requirement.
Ragnarok Landverse Genesis is being developed by Maxion in partnership with Gravity, the original creator of Ragnarok Online. The game’s launch on Ronin follows the success of a previous version of Ragnarok Landverse on the BNB Chain, which attracted over 400,000 players and generated $18.9 million in revenue. With Ronin’s support, the developers aim to provide a stable and scalable experience for a growing player base. While existing Ragnarok Landverse players will not be able to transfer their assets immediately, there are plans to migrate older servers to Ronin in the future.
Built By Maxion in Partnership with Gravity
As the game moves closer to its full release, developers have outlined several upcoming features and updates. Future expansions will include additional player-versus-player (PvP) modes beyond the War of Emperium, new quests and storylines, and more customization options for character appearances. Further details regarding the mobile release and community events will be shared in the coming weeks.
With the Closed Beta Test scheduled to begin on February 20, 2025, Ragnarok Landverse Genesis is taking its first major step toward launch. Players will soon have the opportunity to explore the game and provide feedback that will help shape its final version. As development progresses, more information will be released regarding content updates, cross-platform compatibility, and gameplay improvements.
