Providence, a sci-fi survival game developed by Dynasty Studios and powered by Avalanche technology, has officially been listed on the Epic Games Store. The title is preparing for its early access launch, during which players will be able to experience its third-person shooter mechanics blended with survival gameplay elements. The listing now allows both the blockchain gaming community and traditional players to add the game to their wishlists in anticipation of its release.
Providence Now Listed on Epic Games Store
In early access, Providence will introduce players to two of the three main world types planned for the full game. The first, Homestead, will act as a player’s central base where they can build structures, craft items, and prepare gear. This area provides the foundation for progression, allowing players to strengthen their loadouts in preparation for expeditions into the second world type, known as Slipworlds.
These areas are unstable and time-limited environments that contain valuable resources and hostile creatures. Players must enter these zones, secure materials, and successfully extract them before the area collapses. The gameplay in Slipworlds includes both player versus environment and player versus player encounters, creating a competitive dynamic as multiple players compete to gather and extract the same resources.
Providence incorporates web3 elements to power its in-game economy, but interaction with blockchain technology is not required to enjoy the game. Players can participate in the game without needing to connect a crypto wallet or possess any prior knowledge of blockchain systems. All in-game items and assets are managed on-chain through an Avalanche subnet, but the system is designed to function seamlessly, with the option to engage further through the game’s own in-game wallet.
This wallet can also be accessed externally, though use of it remains optional. The game’s blockchain integration enables several features for players who choose to interact with its web3 components. These include asset ownership, item trading, and additional utilities such as staking, voting on game development changes, participation in community funding, and access to exclusive events and early builds.
The ecosystem is supported by a native token, $PRV, which does not yet have a set token generation event date. Players holding this token will be able to use it for in-game upgrades, cosmetic customization, and upkeep of community-driven locations known as Community Outposts. According to the developers, these upgrades are intended to personalize gameplay rather than offer significant advantages over others.
Providence Now Listed on Epic Games Store
Players interested in Providence can support its visibility by wishlisting the game on the Epic Games Store. While the early access release date has not been announced, this action will notify users when the game becomes available and may help the game gain traction on the platform. Providence is a free-to-play title built using Unreal Engine 5, and access to earlier builds may be available through community giveaways.
These are hosted on the game’s official Discord server, where users can enter for a chance to receive closed alpha access keys. By combining traditional third-person shooter gameplay with optional web3 features, Providence aims to appeal to a broad audience of gamers. The game’s approach to blockchain integration emphasizes accessibility and player choice, positioning it as an entry point for both web2 and web3 gaming communities.
