Head of Operations
Wildcard Alliance, led by Paul and Katy Bettner, has officially unveiled Thousands, a community-driven streaming platform that is set to bring a new dimension to the esports landscape. Designed as part of the ecosystem for Wildcard, Wildcard Alliance's web3 esports game, Thousands aims to go beyond a single title to provide an engaging environment where players, creators, and spectators can interact in real-time.
Wildcard Alliance Reveals Thousands
Although Thousands is still under development, it was showcased during Wildcard Alliance's October TownHall livestream, where a demo gave a glimpse into its core features. These included a vibrant crowd of digital avatars, many of which represent real people through NFTs, interacting with live-streamed esports matches in the virtual arena. One unique aspect of Thousands is its NFT-based rewards system.
Spectators can participate in NFT draws, with random winners selected from the audience, replicating the atmosphere of real-world sports events. Thousands draws inspiration from existing social and streaming platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter), with a vision to bridge the gap between players, content creators, and fans. The platform offers interactive features similar to X’s Spaces, enabling dynamic engagement within the esports community.
While Thousands is being developed alongside Wildcard, Wildcard Alliance hopes to expand its reach by attracting other game developers. The company aims to position Thousands as a broad platform that could support multiple games, helping to reshape the future of digital arenas and live-streamed events. For more information about Wildcard and updates on the development of Thousands, visit the official Wildcard website or follow the game’s social media channels.
