Pirate Nation has launched a new limited-time PvP event, titled Legend of Darkness, which began on May 27 and is set to run through June 25, 2025. This latest competitive season introduces a prize pool of 2 million $PIRATE tokens, currently valued at approximately $121,000. Alongside token rewards, players have the chance to earn themed ship skins and crafting materials. Only players who rank within the top 1,000 by the end of the season will be eligible to claim these rewards.

The Legend of Darkness event spans 28 days and centers around competitive player-versus-player gameplay. Participants who reach the top of the leaderboard will receive a portion of the $PIRATE token pool, as well as additional in-game items such as gold, gems, and rare crafting components. The first-place finisher can earn 25,000 $PIRATE, 200,000 gold, and 10,000 gems.

Even players who finish in the 501st to 1,000th ranks will receive 400 $PIRATE, 3,200 gold, and 150 gems. In addition to these rewards, high-ranking players can unlock access to rare Abyssal ship skins. These cosmetic items include themed versions of the Sloop, Galleon, and Frigate, each styled to reflect a deep-sea, supernatural aesthetic. These skins can be crafted using special artifacts obtained throughout the event.

To be eligible for any of the leaderboard rewards, players must hold either a Founder's Pirate NFT or an active VIP Pass. Without one of these assets, players will not qualify for prizes, regardless of their ranking. Reward distribution will take place immediately after the event ends, with no vesting period. Additionally, players are only permitted to claim one leaderboard prize, even if they qualify for multiple reward tiers.

A new feature introduced during this season allows players to exchange Black Roses—an item earned during the previous Deadman’s Heart event—for PGLD tokens at a one-to-one ratio. This provides returning players with a way to utilize leftover event items in the current competition.
