Parallel continues to take the spotlight in the web3 gaming world, with its Beta phase approaching its end but not without leaving us with a taste of what is to come in the full version. While Parallel Studios' TCG title has been the talk of the town, some might have forgotten that the studio is actively working on Parallel Colony. The latter was presented to the community as an innovative AI simulation game. Players are introduced to Avatars partnered with them in navigating a mining colony, each Avatar equipped with a 6551 wallet to independently own and engage in transactions involving digital possessions like ERC-1155s and $PRIME alongside other AI Avatars.

We have had the chance to sit down with Kohji Nagata, Head Of Game Design at Parallel, and ask him several questions regarding the current success of the beta and the team's plans for the future, including the Planetfall expansion as well as Colony.

While there is no release date yet, the vision of what the game should be and what the players will experience while playing it is clear. One of the most interesting aspects is the AI's capability to essentially adapt and "write its own code" as you play to offer an almost endless world for players to explore and play around with.

We're not exactly sure what the release of Colony will be like and how players will play around with it, but as of now, our goal is to have it be an ever-expanding, ever-living game. We've been able to train the AI to essentially write elements of its own code, thus being able to expand itself, and so we're hoping to utilize those features to make the game a continually growing and interesting experience.

At first glance, and from the sneak peeks on Twitter, Parallel Colony seemed like a single-player experience. However, it will be a "fully multiplayer experience." In fact, the studio has managed to make everyone's colonies "exist in a world alongside each other." How much impact will another colony have on yours or the amount of interaction you can have with other colonies around you is yet to be discovered, but this seamless connection between all colonies is proving to be a very interesting aspect of Parallel Colony.

The goal is to make this a fully multiplayer experience, not just with the people you are working together with inside of your own Colony, but having the colonies all exist in a world alongside each other. What that will look like in the end, again, it's really early and impossible to say, but our hope is to make all of the colonies a part of the Parallel world.

Parallel's TCG component has impressed many so far, and Parallel Colony is poised to do the same. There is no concrete release date of when applicants who signed up will get access to the game.
