Off The Grid Launches on Steam

Gunzilla Games officially releases Off The Grid on Steam with new Battle Pass content, gameplay improvements, and expanded web3 integration through Solana.

Off The Grid, the cyberpunk-themed multiplayer shooter developed by Gunzilla Games, has officially launched on Steam today, July 17. The full release follows an Early Access period that began in June. The game now becomes available alongside existing versions on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store.

To support the launch, the studio released a cinematic trailer titled “PC vs Console,” highlighting the game’s cross-platform play capabilities. Full crossplay is now supported across all platforms, allowing players to compete regardless of device.

In conjunction with the Steam release, Gunzilla introduced a significant game update that expands the Battle Pass. Sections 3 and 4 of the Battle Pass are now accessible, offering new cosmetic items that reflect the game’s cyberpunk setting. Section 3 includes a character skin and themed gear centered around the Drone Operator.

Section 4 introduces the Zero Chill cosmetic line, which brings a matching outfit and weapon skins. This update also concludes the Red, White and Boom event, which means the removal of the Major Cracker Jack content from the Battle Pass.

Gameplay Adjustments and System Fixes

The latest Off The Grid updates brings several changes to weapons, attachments, and movement systems. New attachments have been added for the Kite SMG, including options for barrel, grip, and stock customization. The Buzzkilla cyberlimb has been rebalanced to fire in three-shot bursts, with a lowered damage per bullet but increased overall output due to the new firing mechanic.

The limb’s size has also been increased, while its health points have been slightly reduced. Fixes have also addressed animation and movement issues. Cyberlimbs such as the Hammerheads and Kinetic Shield now perform more reliably, especially during emotes and movement actions like sliding.

Several bugs related to in-game momentum, shoulder-switching during melee attacks, and climbing mechanics have also been resolved. In addition, updates to the lobby user interface have restored previously missing hint descriptions, and an interaction issue on the Marshlands map has been fixed.

Weapon Balancing and Ranked Mode Testing

Earlier updates in preparation for the Steam launch introduced broader changes to combat pacing and weapon balance. The time-to-kill across all weapons has been reduced by 30 percent, increasing the lethality of engagements. Spread mechanics have been adjusted to better reflect movement and airborne conditions. Legendary weapons such as the Vulture, Kelowna, and Kite have been made available in-match and must be looted during gameplay.

Gunplay has also been refined, with improvements to aim assist, scope functionality, and recoil control. A ranked mode is currently being tested in the background. The testing phase is intended to help the development team fine-tune matchmaking and improve player progression across skill levels.

Expansion of the GUN Token to Solana

Gunzilla recently expanded its in-game economy by launching the $GUN token on the Solana blockchain on July 10. The token was previously limited to Avalanche. This move is part of the studio’s broader multi-chain strategy aimed at lowering barriers to entry and increasing accessibility to the GUNZ ecosystem, which powers Off The Grid’s item trading and player economy.

To mark the expansion, a Solana-themed NFT skin pack was released in the game. Players can now trade items using $GUN tokens on the in-game marketplace. Despite a decline of 69 percent from its peak value, the token has seen over $666,000 in trading volume over the past 30 days. Gunzilla has indicated that it plans to support more blockchains in the future and has partnered with Blackhole DEX to improve token liquidity and enable broader participation.

Migration to GUNZ Mainnet and Marketplace Activity

In June, Gunzilla began the process of migrating users to the GUNZ mainnet. As of this writing, more than 21,000 players have moved to the network. The GUNZ mainnet supports wallet integration, validator nodes, and ownership of non-fungible tokens. Over 17.3 million wallets have been created to date. Within the past month, players have completed over 413,000 HEX decodes and recorded $13 million in marketplace trades.

The ecosystem also supports decentralized validator nodes through validator NFTs. Of the 10,000 nodes available, most are already operational. This infrastructure supports the game’s economy and provides additional functionality for users engaging with the platform’s web3 features.

New Game Modes, Features, and Tools

Gunzilla continues to expand gameplay options and developer tools. A new cyberlimb, the Cyberlancer, introduces a dash attack and bleed effect that adds another layer of tactical depth to combat. Four new arenas have been added to support a 20-player free-for-all deathmatch mode. Additional weapon changes have improved the performance of the Kestrel sniper rifle and increased the fire rate of the AZV100.

Scope views are now available in both first- and third-person modes, and Windows PC players now have access to gyro aiming for enhanced control. To support community engagement and item tracking, Gunzilla has launched tools such as DEGENRADAR, which monitors market activity, and OTG Meta, which provides data on player builds and in-game usage trends.

Future Roadmap and Platform Growth

Looking ahead, Gunzilla plans to release a redesigned GUNZ platform website and add support for NFT trading through OpenSea. Although the Steam version of Off The Grid will initially operate on the GUNZ testnet, the full integration with the mainnet is expected in future updates. The studio has also teased upcoming partnerships through its HEX reveal system, with further announcements planned for later in July.
