Mythical Reports $650 Million Completed Transactions

Blockchain gaming studio Mythical Games has announced it has generated $650 million in completed transactions (and 4 million plus total transactions), involving more than 7 million gamers. The update comes as the company prepares to launch a FIFA-themed game this summer, expanding its portfolio of licensed blockchain-based titles.

About Mythical Games

Known for its mobile blockchain game NFL Rivals, Mythical Games has emerged as a key player in the web3 gaming sector. The company has focused on integrating well-known intellectual property into its offerings, positioning itself ahead of competitors in terms of mainstream appeal. Its partnership with FIFA is seen as a continuation of this strategy, following previous collaborations that include Blankos Block Party and Nitro Nation: World Tour.

In addition to the upcoming FIFA release, Mythical Games has partnered with the NFT brand Pudgy Penguins to develop another game expected later in the year. These efforts are supported by investors such as a16z, Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest, Animoca Brands, MoonPay, PROOF, and Stanford Athletics.

User Behavior and Transaction Metrics

While the total transaction value is significant, the company reported approximately 4 million on-chain transactions. This figure is notably lower than the number of unique players, indicating that many users may engage with Mythical’s games without heavily participating in the blockchain-based features. In response to this,

Mythical Games emphasized that its approach to mobile on-chain gaming is designed to prioritize the gaming experience, with blockchain elements integrated in a way that does not require technical knowledge from players. The company stated that players collect digital items they want to own without dealing with added complexity. This model aims to build in-game economies driven by genuine user engagement, rather than speculation or artificial incentives.

Positioning Within the Web3 Gaming Sector

Mythical Games’ recent comments also appeared to draw a distinction from other web3 games that have gained attention through viral growth. Without directly naming competitors, the company referred to games that rapidly scaled through financial incentives but had uncertain user authenticity, such as Telegram game Hamster Kombat, which reportedly attracted over 250 million users but faced questions about the presence of bots.

By focusing on established intellectual property, simplified blockchain integration, and a user-first design, Mythical Games is aiming to maintain long-term engagement and value creation in the web3 gaming space. As anticipation builds for the release of its FIFA game, the company’s performance will likely be closely watched as an indicator of how blockchain technology can be sustainably integrated into mainstream gaming.
