Game studio Mystic Moose has unveiled a unique partnership with Amazon Prime Gaming to launch their new Web3 game, Mojo Melee. The game is a fresh take on the deck-building and autochess genres and is now accessible to Prime members as part of a six-month-long promotion.
Mojo Melee offers Prime users exclusive monthly drops of in-game items like Spellstones and currency packs, and digital collectibles, including novel champions and skins. These digital collectibles, manifested as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), can be employed in future Planet Mojo games or traded on open marketplaces.
The game is a brainchild of a seasoned team of game developers boasting experience from renowned firms like LucasArts, Electronic Arts, and Activision. Mojo Melee is intended to bring a fresh perspective to the autochess genre by incorporating approachable components that demand experience and insight to master.
Unlike standard autochess games where identical units populate both teams, Mojo Melee takes a cue from deck-building games. Players can experiment with their choice of teams, influencing the outcome of battles.
Furthermore, the promotion provides Prime members access to upcoming “Mod-able” Mojos. These are 3D digital collectibles that players can customize for a unique in-game and on-chain appearance. Mojos are mystical plant-based creatures from Planet Mojo, each belonging to different subclasses - Moss, Leaf, Flower, and Vine - and equipped with distinctive abilities to heal, buff, and boost the players' champions, hence diversifying game strategies.
Mike Levine, CEO of Mystic Moose, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with Prime Gaming and the opportunity it presents for players to explore the world of Web3 gaming assets.
Planet Mojo is a network of interconnected Web3 games created by Mystic Moose. Set within an enigmatic alien planet, this ecosystem features an evolving narrative where players compete using customized teams of fantasy creatures in an array of esports and player-versus-player (PvP) games. The platform prioritizes player empowerment by granting them ownership of in-game assets and input in the project's future direction.
The game's collaboration with Amazon Prime Gaming signals a significant step for Web3 gaming in gaining mainstream traction, according to Urvit Goel, Vice President of Global Business Development at Polygon Labs.
Mojo Melee is currently available for play on desktop browsers and it is in its Open Beta phase for Android devices.
