MetalCore, the GAM3 Awards Best Shooter award winner, has announced that they will be shutting down their Alpha servers for the foreseeable future. The reason for the shutdown is due to an important server issue that was discovered during a full weekend of play sessions.
MetalCore apologized for the inconvenience in a Discord announcement as well as on other socials, stating that they had built the schedule based on player survey responses and requests for more/longer play sessions. Unfortunately, the back-end server issue was uncovered during this time, leading to the closure of the servers and the cancellation of the Open Weekend Access (OWA) that was scheduled for that weekend.
MetalCore has assured the community that they are working diligently to address the issue and will update everyone as soon as possible. While it is unclear when the servers will be back up and running, MetalCore has expressed their excitement for future OWAs and the community's continued involvement in the game. It is definitely extremely unfortunate to see one of the leading title in the web3 gaming space be unavailable to play without any return date, but we are looking forward to what the team over at Studio 369 can do once the servers are back up and running.
