Studio 369 has announced significant updates for the upcoming Closed Beta 3 of their web3 sci-fi shooter, MetalCore. The official launch date is set for this Thursday June 27th, the developers have provided a preview of the enhancements aimed at enriching the blockchain gaming experience. In this article, we will cover everything you need to know about the Closed Beta 3, $MCG token, and more.
MetalCore Unveils Major Updates for Closed Beta 3 Launch
MetalCore is a multiplayer sci-fi MMO featuring epic mechs and PvPvE battles, with deep crafting mechanics and a player-driven economy. Set on the distant planet of Kerberos, players must survive an adrenaline-fueled battleground starting as a foot soldier, climb the ranks, and grow their destructive arsenal of mechs and war machines. Notably, the crypto game is the first title built directly on the Immutable zkEVM.
This latest beta promises to deliver a host of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the blockchain gaming experience. Among the highlights are session-based PvP scenarios, a new map zone called Starslope Station, customizable vehicle loadouts, and faction-based social hubs. These additions and enhancements are poised to make Closed Beta 3 the most game-changing release yet for MetalCore enthusiasts.
MetalCore PvP
One of the standout additions is session-based PvP scenarios. Unlike the current open-world maps where players engage in "Domination" and "King of the Hill" or encounter enemies during PvE missions, the new update introduces fast-paced PvP sessions. These sessions will feature various game modes such as Capture the Flag, Domination, and High Value Target.
While specific details on map size, team size, and session dynamics are yet to be revealed, it’s anticipated that these will involve smaller maps and teams, similar to traditional multiplayer FPS games. This addition aims to offer a more versatile play-to-earn experience beyond the extensive territorial warfare and vehicular combat of the open world.

The open-world gameplay is also receiving notable enhancements. A new faction-war-centric PvE mission and "ambient world conflict" are on the way. Although the exact nature of these new features are not entirely clear, it appears to involve faction members collaborating on various objectives. Moreover, solo-based PvE missions will be revamped to better align with each faction, adding immersion and tailored challenges to the gameplay.
To encourage more in-game social interactions, faction-based "social hubs" are being introduced. These dedicated areas within the war-ravaged world will allow players from different factions to engage in social activities. While specifics are sparse, these hubs could feature social events or simply provide a space for players to chat and strategize after intense battles.

Customization takes a front seat with the introduction of vehicle loadouts, enabling players to adjust their vehicles to suit their preferred playstyles. This feature will be particularly useful in the new map zone, Starslope Station. Once a humble port town, Starslope Station is now a strategic battleground where factions vie for control of the Control Tower.
Detailed information about the zone is limited, but it promises to add a new dynamic to the ongoing faction conflicts. To enhance the play-to-earn aspect, a new leaderboard-reward system will be implemented, offering skilled players a share of an undisclosed reward pool based on their rankings. More details are expected closer to the Closed Beta 3 launch.
Additionally, the game will receive stability and performance improvements, including bug fixes and optimizations for smoother gameplay and reduced crashes. Players can also look forward to more consistent frame rates and upgraded sound effects for a more immersive experience.

The MetalCore universe expands with the introduction of the $MCG token this June 28th, an ERC-20 token that will be deployed on both Immutable's zkEVM rollup and Ethereum mainnet. This deployment aims to maximize interoperability and streamline the game's economic framework.
$MCG is set to become the core economic driver within MetalCore, facilitating all in-game transactions, resource flows, and incentivization structures. This token will reward players for their achievements, creating a robust and sustainable in-game economy. Maintaining a consistent supply chain of $MCG will be crucial, necessitating disciplined token logistics, thoughtful distribution schedules, and strategic planning.
These key updates are poised to make the next beta release the most game-changing yet. Players interested in joining the upcoming beta can pre-register on the game’s official website for a chance to receive a code redeemable on the Epic Games Store.
