Lineup Games Joins Forces with Sui

Lineup Games names Sui as its default blockchain, aiming to simplify web3 integration and enhance player experience in titles like Striker League and Gold Striker.

Lineup Games, a developer of sports-focused web3 games previously known as UNKJD, has announced that it will use Sui as its default blockchain network. The company, which has built a presence around live sports gameplay with titles such as Striker League and Gold Striker, aims to streamline its blockchain operations through this decision.

A Shift Towards Unified Blockchain Infrastructure

The move to adopt Sui as the main blockchain comes as Lineup Games continues to develop a broader gaming ecosystem. This ecosystem is designed to allow players to participate in competitions, earn points, and claim rewards. As part of this initiative, the company will also launch a new token on Sui, with in-game points serving as a way to qualify for a future token airdrop. This integration supports Lineup’s goal of connecting gameplay and blockchain functionality more efficiently.

Development History and Platform Evolution

Founded originally as Uncaged Studios, the developer secured $24 million in funding in July 2022. The company began work on its flagship sports football game, initially launched under the name MonkeyLeague. The title featured genesis NFTs and the MBS token on the Solana blockchain. The game was later renamed UNKJD Soccer and has since evolved into what is now known as Striker League. Alongside this main title, Lineup Games has also released Gold Striker as a mini-game on platforms including LINE and Telegram.

Transition to Sui for Technical Efficiency

Lineup Games has previously supported multiple blockchains, including Kaia, TON, Base, and Solana. However, by designating Sui as its “default network,” the company is aiming to consolidate its on-chain activity. According to CEO Tal Friedman, past web3 games have often created friction for users due to technical requirements such as wallet integration and companion applications. He stated that using Sui allows the company to minimize these disruptions and maintain a consistent gameplay experience.

Friedman noted that one of the key advantages of Sui is its ability to integrate blockchain features without interrupting the user experience. He emphasized that players can remain engaged in the game without needing to navigate external blockchain processes. In addition, Sui's support for composable and nestable NFTs provides opportunities to expand in-game experiences in a more integrated and accessible way.

Focus on Enhanced Player Interaction

With the adoption of Sui, Lineup Games continues to focus on delivering accessible and rewarding gaming experiences built on web3 infrastructure. By reducing technical complexity and enhancing the connection between blockchain and gameplay, the company aims to improve both user engagement and operational efficiency. As it builds on existing titles and prepares for the launch of new features, Lineup Games positions itself as a notable addition to the evolving web3 gaming space.
