League of Kingdoms rebrands to Arena-Z, introducing new web3 games, the A2Z token, and a $20M ecosystem fund to support a growing player-owned gaming platform.
League of Kingdoms, a blockchain-based MMORTS, has rebranded as Arena-Z. This move marks a shift from a single-game focus to a broader web3 gaming franchise. As part of the rebrand, the platform is introducing two new games, a new token called A2Z, a digital companion named AZZY, and a $20 million fund to support ecosystem growth.

League of Kingdoms launched in 2020 as one of the first blockchain games to reach a large audience. The game attracted over 150,000 daily users and was played in more than 210 countries. It was supported by investors including a16z crypto, Hashed, Yield Guild Games, Peak XV Partners, and YZi Labs.
The original game featured base-building, alliance warfare, and on-chain political systems. Players could vote on leadership, compete for control of key in-game structures, and earn LOKA tokens based on performance. NFTs played a key role in the gameplay, from LAND that generated passive rewards to DRAGO companions and tradable resource tokens.

Arena-Z is launching a $20 million Ecosystem Grant Program aimed at supporting developers and content creators. The fund, backed by staking and ecosystem reserves, is intended to attract studios interested in building tools, games, or other features that align with Arena-Z’s goals. The team has stated that it wants to support projects that improve the player experience through web3 technology without making it overly complex.
Initial partners include XOCIETY, Pebble City, and The New Order, all of which will contribute content and development resources to the platform. These early collaborations show Arena-Z’s intention to open its ecosystem to outside contributors and expand beyond internal development.

Arena-Z is designed to unify different gaming experiences under one ecosystem. Rather than treating each game as a separate entity, the platform allows users to carry their identity, achievements, and digital assets across all titles. This shared progression is powered by the Arena-Z Chain, a Layer-2 blockchain built on Ethereum’s Optimism technology through the OP Superchain. The infrastructure is built to handle fast and low-cost transactions while remaining compatible with Ethereum-based assets and smart contracts.
Han Yoo, COO of 3MERGED, the developer behind Arena-Z, said the rebrand reflects a strategic shift. He explained that League of Kingdoms showed that web3 games could reach mainstream audiences, but the team realized that long-term growth requires a connected platform where player progress continues across multiple games.

With the rebrand, Arena-Z is launching two new games. LOK Chronicle is a dungeon RPG that allows players to command adventurers as they protect civilians in a growing conflict. The game supports assets from League of Kingdoms, including Drago NFTs, LAND, and LOKA tokens.
LOK Hunters is an idle RPG focused on hero collection and equipment upgrades. Players can continue to earn progress and rewards even while offline, making it suitable for casual players and those who prefer a more hands-off experience. Both games are currently in beta and expected to launch later this quarter. These titles are intended to be the first of many, all tied together through shared progression and blockchain infrastructure.

As part of the transition, Arena-Z is replacing its existing LOKA token with a new token called A2Z. The migration is scheduled to begin on July 28 at 03:00 UTC, with a conversion rate of 1 LOKA to 20 A2Z. Binance and HTX have confirmed support for the token swap, and other exchanges are expected to follow.
The A2Z token keeps the utility of LOKA but also introduces new features. These include support for cross-game rewards, a universal player ID, and governance functions that allow holders to participate in the direction of the platform. The token is designed to support both Arena-Z's core games and third-party titles that join the ecosystem.
To enhance the user experience, Arena-Z is also launching AZZY, a digital companion that evolves based on player activity. AZZY acts as a personal profile that reflects a user’s journey across the platform. The base version will be available on the official website at launch. While largely cosmetic at first, AZZY is intended to play a bigger role in identity and progression as the platform grows.

Arena-Z is the first gaming-focused Layer 2 built on the OP Superchain. This provides technical advantages like reduced transaction fees and improved scalability while maintaining Ethereum compatibility. The platform has also secured backing from both Binance and Coinbase, making it the only Korea-based web3 gaming infrastructure supported by both exchanges.
In addition, Arena-Z has partnered with NHN, one of South Korea’s largest gaming firms. The partnership is intended to support the platform’s adoption and help integrate web3 elements into more traditional gaming environments.
