Jason Brink, known in the blockchain community as BitBender, has announced he is stepping back from Gala Games after a four-year tenure as president of blockchain. Although stepping down from his official role, Brink will continue to serve as an unpaid advisor for the company. Alongside him, several other team members are also leaving Gala Games.
In this article, we will cover everything you need to know about Jason Brink's newest project LFG short for Let’s Fight Giants, which will focus on GalaChain and Node ecosystem from outside the company.
Let's Fight Giants Art
Jason Brink (aka BitBender) and his departing colleagues are launching a new organization called LFG, short for Let’s Fight Giants. The mission of Let’s Fight Giants (LFG) is to bolster Gala’s infrastructure, including GalaChain and the Gala Node ecosystem, from an external and more decentralized perspective.
Brink believes this move will better enable them to support projects that operate independently of Gala Games. He emphasized his enduring commitment to the Gala ecosystem, stating, “I am never going to leave the GALA ecosystem.”

This development follows a significant year for Gala Games, marked by the controversial forking of its GALA token to a new version, v2 GALA. Initially, no clear reason was provided for this transition. However, it was later revealed that internal strife between co-founders Eric Schiermeyer and Wright Thurston, who were suing each other for substantial sums, played a part.
The dispute highlighted structural issues within the company, particularly its governance model, which required a 2/3 majority vote from the board but was stymied by having only two equal shareholders.
Gala Games: Build Without Limits
The creation of LFG by Brink and his allies could provide a fresh approach to supporting and expanding the Gala Games ecosystem amidst these challenges. By operating outside the traditional corporate structure, LFG aims to foster a more decentralized and resilient infrastructure for Gala’s blockchain and node operations.
As the blockchain gaming industry continues to evolve, Brink's new venture underscores the ongoing commitment to innovation and decentralization within the Gala community.
