Heroes of Mavia has unveiled its plans for Phase 2: Next Frontier, introducing a range of new features designed to enhance the gaming experience. The rollout, which began on June 16th, promises significant updates including an integrated web3 marketplace, Ruby staking, liquidity pools, PvP battles, and more.
Heroes of Mavia Phase 2: New Features, Ruby Staking, PvP Battles
Heroes of Mavia is a play-and-earn game that utilizes blockchain technology and NFTs. The game is set on the island of Mavia, where players aim to construct and develop their armies and engage in battles with other players using resources obtained by attacking other bases. The primary resources in the mobile game are Gold, Oil, and RUBY, Mavia's in-game cryptocurrency.
Similar to Clash of Clans, players in Mavia Island build and grow their bases, train armies, and battle other players. However, what sets Mavia Island apart is the ability to earn real cryptocurrency, specifically RUBY, by competing against other players all on the Ethereum blockchain.
To start earning Heroes of Mavia's RUBY, players must first build ground and air forces, which consist of vehicles, infantry, and air units. These forces can then be used to battle other players and protect their own base from attacks. Additionally, players should assemble a defensive army and upgrade their troops to increase their defense. This can be especially important when trying to protect valuable resources.
The first part of Phase 2, released on June 16th, brought level 8 HQs and new Traps to the game. Players can now utilize Explosive Mines and Flying Bombs to counter enemy troops. Additionally, a base layout editor, daily presents, daily challenges, and bug fixes were introduced. The hero Mira also received new superpowers.

Ruby, the in-game currency for Heroes of Mavia, will see several new functionalities. Ruby Scan will allow users to track Ruby transactions, similar to a blockchain explorer. This feature supports the blockchain integration of Ruby for NFT purchases and future transactions.
The upcoming web marketplace will facilitate a player-based economy where legendary item NFTs can be bought and sold using Ruby and MAVIA tokens. A 2.5% transaction fee will apply, rewarding liquidity providers. A new liquidity pool will allow users to deposit MAVIA tokens to earn more from marketplace fees, with backend functionality converting tokens as needed.
In-Game Economy Explained
Ruby Staking will enable players to earn Ruby through gameplay and lock them up for fixed periods to receive MAVIA tokens. Additionally, a token swap feature will be introduced for easy conversion between Ruby and MAVIA.
Land NFTs will soon be integrated into the game, allowing landholders to bridge their NFTs from Ethereum to Base. These can be bought, sold, and rented on the Mavia marketplace for Ruby or MAVIA tokens. Owning a land NFT will offer various benefits, including earning more Ruby, whitelist access for crafting certain NFTs, and free tournament entries. The current floor price for Heroes of Mavia land NFTs is 0.175 ETH on OpenSea.

Real-time PvP battles are set to arrive soon. Players will engage in PvE races, attacking the same random base with the same selection of troops. The goal is to inflict three stars worth of damage first, or the most damage within a three-minute limit.
Entry fees will be paid in Ruby, with winners taking the entry fees minus a 5% burn fee. Alliance-based PvP battles will also be introduced, funded from Alliance coffers. Additionally, Heroes of Mavia plans to offer royalties to players who are the first to mint new legendary items, although specific details are yet to be announced.
The Heroes of Mavia team continues to enhance the game with these exciting updates, with more features expected in the coming months.
