Today marks the official kickoff of the Beta Phase 1, teased around a month ago, for the play-to-earn MMO strategy game, Heroes of Mavia. Developed by Skrice Studios, the game takes players to a fantasy-themed island called Mavia, where they build bases on plots of land and engage in epic battles.
Access to Phase 1 of the Beta is exclusive to Mavia Land NFT holders. The initial access is via invite, gradually rolling out to all Land NFT owners. For interested parties, Land NFTs are currently tradable on OpenSea. The inaugural phase of Mavia's Beta aims to collect as much feedback and inspiration from the community and partners as possible. In addition to this, it serves as a testing ground for gameplay elements and bug elimination.
The first phase of Beta comes with a host of features, including HQ Levels 1-5, Core Resources, Core Troops, one Hero (Mira), Basic Multiplayer Functionality, Core Defense Buildings, Visiting Neighbor Bases, Global Chat (experimental), Basic Shop/Armory, and Core UI Screens. There are several features not included in the first Beta phase but expected in Beta Phase 2 or shortly after. These include a Walkthrough/Tutorial, special effects, full HD graphics, Alliances, Skins/Decorations, and a Web3 Marketplace.
In anticipation of the Beta phase, the developers at Skrice Studios are fully prepared for potential bugs, glitches, imbalances, and other issues. It's also notable that their in-game 3D assets can be "upscaled" to 2-3x higher quality once full stability is ensured.
Skrice Studios views the development of Mavia as a joint effort between the team and the game's community. Phase 1 of the Beta is seen as a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to work together towards a goal of leading Mavia and Web3 gaming to mainstream audiences via a unique AAA mobile experience.
